Introductions!

Pathfinder Online

Having seen the massive interpretation and miscommunication between so many active members of this forum, I thought it would be advantageous to have a thread in which we can all get to know eachother a little better. Open PvP, Roleplay and a range of other applicable terms mean many different things depending upon where you've come from so lets try and add a little perspective.

Please try and refrain from posting other than to give an introduction! Plenty of room for banter elsewhere ^^.

RL name is Jeff. I'm 24 and I am an undergraduate Economics student (got there a bit late I know) in Manchester, UK. I've recently begun playing the Pathfinder RPG over the last few months having been a reader for a little longer. News of PFO couldn't have come at a more exciting time for me.

My greatest past time has been playing MMORPGs. Starting with Ultima Online in 1998, I then managed to give almost every mainstream MMORPG a whirl up to now. My time however was most put into Ultima Online, Anarchy Online, Lineage 2, World of Warcraft and Darkfall Online.

I mainly enjoy these games to play with people and shy away from aspects of the game which does not priorities player interaction. Yes I know I played Lineage 2 (mob farming game of the century), but I was in a great guild for a long time. If you've read my posts then you probably already get why I'm here.

Really looking forward to news and updates as they come, until the day I hope I can establish my guild and help bring the River Kingdoms to life.

I'm a civil engineer in my mid-thirties from Sweden.

I've been playing Neverwinter Nights 1 on online multiplayer worlds for the last 8 years on and off. That has been my "MMO".

Still haven't found anything better and I am still grasping for every straw of romours of new and upcoming MMO's that could break the paths of the normal ones.

I have a strong belief that you can make an MMO NWN-like...

I'm a Finnish geek in my early twenties who's currently applying for University.

I used to play World of Warcraft up until Cataclysm (started in Vanilla times, just as Ahn'Qiraj was opened) and have been playing D&D since 3.5e came out. Currently I play 3.5e games, 4e ones and the occasional Pathfinder game.

My views are quite often different from those of others, but I stick to my tastes while trying not to shove them down other people's throats. Two characters that I want to try out in Pathfinder right now are a LN Cleric of Zon-Kuthon and my old 3.5e character whom I converted from a NG Cleric of Pelor to a NG Cleric of Sarenrae.

Oh, wait. We were supposed to talk about the MMO. Well, I don't have much to say by this part, other than "we will just have to wait and see" when it comes to Pathfinder Online. Then again, I'd love to try out those two characters of mine in PFO someday, if it is possible.

I'd like to add to my "resume" that I just started following this forum (and especially the PFO part) quite recently...

My real name is Greg.

I am 41 years old and I am currently a network security engineer for a large corporation.

My introduction to Dungeons and Dragons was when it was first released but I did not start playing until 1981.

Currently, I am playing (2) Pathfinder campaigns on Play by Post boards outside of Paizo which was recently reduced due to real life issues the GMs were experiencing in their own lives. One campaign takes place in Falcon's Hollow on Golarion and the other I am play testing in a new world (can not say more due to NDA I signed with the author).

I have beta tested the following MMOs:

1. Dungeons and Dragons Online - I am currently play off and on F2P only.
2. Lord of the Rings Online - Levels 29 to 75, Rank 10 Warg Stalker-PvMP
3. Star Wars: The Old Republic - Jedi Consular and Sentinel

Like superfly2000, I have also played in NWN1 persistent worlds.

I look forward to playing in the following MMOs (and beta testing):

1. Star Wars: The Old Republic - 12/15 with preorder, public release 12/20/2011 - already beta tested.

2. Pathfinder Online

3. Fallout Online - Either by Interplay or Bethesda\Obsidian Entertainment if Interplay fails to deliver a product or product progress by next year.

Scarab Sages

Real name is Josh.

Started D&D with 3.5 in middle school. 24 years old. Didn't really get into it until college, and even then 3.5 craziness abounded. I picked up Pathfinder thanks to a tip from my best friend, and we've been playing it since Beta :D

Majored in music in college. Vocal Performance. Hoping to get my grad school audition CD's and applications in by this upcoming fall so I can study Opera (btw, Paizo, your interpretation of Opera in Golarion, as well as prominence in the primarily Italian-themed country, combined with the stylistic choices made in said Opera, lead me to give you EXTREMELY high marks for historical accuracy regarding the genre).

MMO's I've played:

--World of Warcraft (Burning Crusade)
--Guild Wars
--Achaea (Text-Based MUD)
--City of Heroes/Villains
--DC Universe Online
--Perfect World Online
--Vindictus
--Elsword
--Adventure Quest: Worlds
--Dungeons & Dragons Online
--Lord of the Rings Online
--Warhammer Online
--Final Fantasy XI

I'm a budget analyst in my mid thirties, living in Pittsburgh, PA. Started playing "AD&D" during second edition.

The game I've probably spent the most time on is Neverwinter Nights. I explored the online functions but had techincal issues, so I ended up playing the core modules and some player-created content over and over again with different classes. I've also spent some time creating cities but never took the time to figure out the scripting interface.

I've tried Warhammer, EQ2 and DDO, but have settled into LOTRO as a charter player. I have a level 53 Champion and am currently exploring Moria (and feeling a little withdrawal from the sunlight).

I'm looking forward to the upcoming "Neverwinter" as well as Pathfinder Online. I started reading pathfinder materials when I read about it in a forum. I really like D&D 3.5, and how Pathfinder was created based on that ruleset. I tried my hand at GM'ing, but I found that I didn't have the time and patience for it. I'd love to find a like-aged group of players to start playing pathfinder as a player and not a GM.
