lol sorry guys realized my mistake. forgot since most of the time other than movement you consider your mount basically one with your character. i.e. still have to do saves for it and everything but you occupy same spaces and generally things that are attacking, attack you.
So I forgot touch spells go off the next time you touch things even if you don't intend to
