Brinewall Castle - should I be worried?

Hey guys, quick explanation, our DM has been running Jade Regent and last session we reached Brinewall Castle and fought the ettercap and dire corby. Early this week the DM announced he can no longer run the game at least until the new year. :-(

Being an experienced DM I volunuteered to run it with my PC as an NPC until he returns. The game is this Friday night and I'm madly preping for it. Is there any areas or fights I should be concerned about? (I usually have more time to prep)

The party are all 3rd level - Ninja, Cavalier, Druid, Cleric and my Wizard.
Thanks in advance

Not particularly. Most of the enemies are straight forward.

Buttersnips is a quickling, so you might want to think of tactics to use with ultra high speed and acrobatics. Played well, quicklings are hilariously annoying and fairly dangerous. Played poorly, he will be murdered in two rounds.

Remember to follow Nindinzego's tactics blocks, and not just play to his strengths. He is supposed to be insane and terrified, and I think that is reflected in the CR. Also, under no circumstances let the party find the secret entrance and encounter him at level 2. Even at level 3, his Unholy Blight can be a potential TPK if you have mostly good-aligned PCs.

How are you for ranged attacks? Zaiobe can be really hard if played outside, especially if the PCs aren't the sort to run and hide. Remember to keep her at range, though. She is totally useless in melee, and will be beaten to death in a second.

For areas, the one thing you really need to do is make up the treasures for the secret vault. You probably won't get that far in one session, but (if you check out the boards) lots of people like to put quite a bit of work into them. I think players appreciate the unique, interesting items.

Thanks Mort, at the moment I was thinking about the Quickling because they can be very dangerous if played correctly.

Have to find those threads for the treasure.
