I like the way you reason. Healing potions can either go to me or the healer. It may not be best to have all with me, just in case I fall down a cliff or get carried off by a mountain devil or something. And, this last battle not withstanding, I try to avoid melee as much as I can...
Hmmm... I may have gone a little overboard. According to the loot log, Tragershen is already carrying a potion of lesser restoration from the Tattooed Lady. I guess it would make sense to give one of the new ones to Mihai, and one to Aedalis. Or should they go to the front-liners? They don't seem to me like something that you'd spend actions in combat to pull out and use, but I don't really have experience with them.
(FWIW, the reason why Anton would give so little for Aedalis and Mihai to use, unless they ask for it, is because (1) they avoid melee like the plague and (2) it seems like they always have more things to do than actions to do them.)

Anton Green |

Okay, both potions of lesser restoration to Mihai. Loot log now fully up-to-date.
Just a quick reminder to everyone that the site our DM set up has some pretty awesome features. You can sort the loot log any way you want. If you sort by the Owner column, then you can easily see if there's anything that the party gave you that you missed. You can also see if there's anything under "Base camp" that you might want. Check it out!

So, I took my own advice and discovered that Anton has a darkwood coffer from the Brine Demon. Totally forgot about that. What to do...

I am off camping in the woods of Alberta today with the family. I will have limited to no internet activity for a week.
Please DMNPC my character while I am gone.

Corbius Jank |

Lord okoya is trapped with me camping and is unable to post until Friday.

Anton Green |

Happy camping! :)
On current events in-game: I've never been so tempted to read the AP. And yet I resist.
When I was first reading PbP games to get a feel for how to play in one, I got a taste of the beginning of Serpent's Skull. I did my best to separate player knowledge from character knowledge; but now we're *way* beyond where that game petered out (not like much played out the same way anyway). I really have no idea what's going on.
To DM Stephen: Sorry, checked for replies on the Gameplay thread before deleting to move it here and expand it; didn't think to check for replies here, even though I thought it was a more appropriate place for it.

Tragershen |

Here are the final versions of the Azlanti spells:
Azlanti Foresight
School divination (compulsion) [mind-affecting]; Level sorcerer/witch/wizard 1
...Azlanti Glue
School conjuration (creation); Level sorcerer/witch/wizard 2
...
DM Stephen: Are either of these on the Magus spell list?
Corbius: If either is on the Magus spell list, are you interested in copying it from Tragershen's spellbook? Are there any spells in Tragershen's book (in his profile) that you want to copy right away? I'm asking so I can set aside some of the 300gp work of scribing materials if you do.
Sorry for all the questions, but I am working on getting my book keeping and profile up to date for Tragershen, and I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Fredrik |

My mom is in the hospital -- just a scalp wound, but really bloody, and they had to do lots of tests. They're keeping her overnight for observation, so I'm about to go make a very long drive to bring her some stuff and pick up my dad, who rode in the ambulance with her.
A minute or two later: Scratch that. Now she's going to be transferred to another (much closer) hospital for that. So more waiting.

Fredrik |

Thank you, she'll be fine, could've been much worse. I was at work, but it sounds like she tripped on a rug, dropped a glass that shattered, and then did a face plant in the broken glass. Got away with "just" cuts and bruises; my dad's picking her up right now. They're at that stage of life where poor balance becomes an issue, and she has a foot that drags sometimes from an old neck injury, so they'll be making some changes around the house to minimize future risks.
It's still rather upsetting, due to the same vivid imagination that enables me to enjoy this hobby so much. I'm not sure how much my muse will be able to inspire me right now, but all of my games tend to slow down on weekends anyway.

markofbane |

I'm glad it looks like it won't be anything major or long lasting.
Sometimes it takes something like this to make you check and make sure you're appreciating all the right things in life. Makes me want to drive out this week and visit with my mom; I haven't seen her for a few weeks.
I hope she is back to normal quickly and recovers fully.

Fredrik |

Go see your mom! Time is precious. I'm not terribly happy about being underemployed at the moment; but I'm very happy that I get along well with my parents. Yeah, I'm not proud of moving back in with them at my age; but the flip side of less independence is building more memories of them, whether it's having a deep conversation or just watching a show on Netflix. Those opportunities never come back once they're gone.

DM Stephen |

+1, I am tight with my parents and totally understand wanting to spend as much time with them as I can...without them driving me crazy that is :]
Good conversation...Nim with those stellar rolls...was wondering if you would find out the entire story. Once Nim guessed the tree, I couldn't resist giving you a "taste" of what could be to come...

Corbius Jank |

I am glad to hear everything is ok Fredrik! Family truly is the only thing that matters.
Tragershen
I am interested in the Azlanti glue spell but.. I have to be 4th level to cast it and that is a ways off yet. As long as I can get it from you later save the resources for yourselves right now.

Tragershen |

Scribing efforts:
Write Azlanti Luck into Tragershen’s spellbook (1 hour study using read magic, 1 hour to write, 10 gp)
Write scroll of Azlanti Luck for Aedalis (1 hour to scribe, 25 gp)
Write Azlanti Glue into Tragershen’s spellbook (1 hour study using read magic, 2 hours to write, 40 gp)
Write Vanish from scroll into Tragershen’s spellbook (1 hour to study using read magic, 1 hour to write, 10 gp)
Aedalis, I need to be able to memorize Azlanti Glue to be able to scribe it, which I can do at 3rd level. I’ll reserve supplies to do so (150 gp).
Corbius, I am writing Vanish from the scroll we found into my spellbook. Do you want to copy it from my spellbook? I also have spells in my spellbook that are on the magus list that you do not have: Unseen Servant, Burning Hands, Expeditious Retreat, Feather Fall and Magic Missile. Is there a couple there you think are a priority for Corbius to have while we have supplies for it?
That means 85 gp of the supplies have been used, 150 gp of supplies are reserved and 65 gp are left.

Tragershen |

I don't go until after the puss bags, so that's why I haven't posted in the thread today. :) It has been a rather slow week overall this week from what I've seen. I'm guessing it is con season, back to school, etc.

markofbane |

I am sorry. I didn't recognize that it was my turn in initiative, even though you'd included the order on the current page of posts. I have been busy trying to arrange things for my grandson starting kindergarten (I'm rather involved in the process because I'm paying for a lot of it), but that's really not a good excuse and I will try to be more diligent.

![]() |

No apologies necessary. I wasn't calling out anyone in particular. Lord knows I have held things up before... and RL always takes precedence. I was just lamenting the slowness of the PBPs in general. :)
I've got some time on my hands and I want to game! :D

Corbius Jank |

DM Stephen did you notice my questions for clarification on shocking grasp?

Fredrik |

Hopefully it won't matter, but it looks like Nim rounded the halved damage up instead of down.
Half: The spell deals damage, and a successful saving throw halves the damage taken (round down).
I know that channeled energy isn't a spell, but I would expect all saving throws for half damage to round the same way, and that was the clearest quote I could find. If I'm reading it correctly? I'm experiencing some deja vu, but my search fu is failing to find an earlier discussion.

Corbius Jank |

Thank you for the clarification Stephen.

Corbius Jank |

Sorry about the hold up today guys. Long day at work.

Fredrik |

Here's an article on the sling staff, because it's an obscure ancient weapon and hard to picture.

Tragershen |

Two questions...
Did the elven immunity to ghoul paralysis carry over from earlier editions? I'm not seeing it offhand.
GM, is that your GT500 Mustang that is the next photo in ImageShack (after the map)?

Tragershen |

Sorry, to be nosy, but WOW. That is really an awesome car! I grew up in a Ford family, but our vehicles were always, well, let's say more practical than that. Thanks for sharing the pictures, even if it was unintentional. :)
