Is the spear introduced in Pathfinder #10 35 legal for PFS play?
No, the totem spear is not legal. All you need to do is check the Additional Resources page to see if an item or sourcebook is PFS legal. Sorry :(
Beyond that I refuse on principle to help anyone who makes a gnome PC ;p

Wow, that is some serious gnome envy. It may look like derision and scorn, but you secretly yearn to be good enough to play a gnome.
Or not.

Doug is a self-admitted poor PFS player which is why he devotes all his efforts to be a GM where he can bend/brake the rules and torment much larger groups of players. He is not known as 'Massacre Miles' for nothing. :-)

'Massacre Miles'? Not so we noticed at Gryphcon last year...
Though iirc, he was not at his best that weekend.

If not, does anyone have a suggestion for a decent non-standard 2-handed weapon for my Gnome BardBarian?
Thanks
Depending on what you want to do, a Fauchard (from Classic Monsters Revisited, I think) might do you. Polearm, so it has reach, trip, 18-20 crit range, and I think it does 1d8 for a gnome.

Ripsaw Glaive.
Non-standard for regular folk. Should come with the rage for any gnome barbarian. And the bard in him should like the chainsaw like grinding while the blade spins.

If you can't tempt fate, who can you tempt. Hmmm... in this case that would be Doug I suppose.
When you're main character is a frontliner with an AC that ranges between 6 and 12 you've got to talk big because you know the end is coming.
I thought about the Fauchard, and I really thought about the Ripsaw Glaive, I'm just not sold on reach for this guy...
Though the Ripsaw Glaive does inspire some wonderful carnage.

A B.A.R. - yep. Browning Automatic Rifle. even works cutting down trees. Not sure if it works for a small character though....
Though it doesn't quite work with a character that likes to hit things. Beating an orc over the head with a BAR is kinda beside/against the point.
What I'd love is an instrument big and sturdy enough to beat people with. Hence the Totem Spear.

lol! thanks Cainus. I needed that today.
I'd suggest that digging tool, the greatsword. Yep, as all minors in PF can tell you, nothing deals more damage than a greatsword. But perhaps my opinion might not be the best - I don't play many characters that beat things over the head.

Yea, Michigan has it rough with the 5 star GM's. We have Massacre Miles, and T.P.Kyle, and I'm shooting for Deadly Dan, or some such, but I have to get more player kills. I've only killed 2? Maybe 3? I'll have to look.

You know I earned that title from killing PCs, not actual players, right?
And just so I am not threadjacking, if the OP wants his bardbarian to be able to hit his opponents with his instrument, why not take that feat where you suffer no penalty for using improvised weapons? What's it called, Catch Off-Guard? Then he can throw a cowbell, bash with a lyre or slash with some cymbals.

Wait, Character death isn't to be followed up with a ritualized player death? I swear I read that in the PFS guide somewhere, written in the blood of Norgorber. This totally explains why I have trouble getting players to come back after witnessing a player death.
