does he want vengeance? should i have him fade out of the campaign... should he come back? looking for ideas here...

i had him fight for a while, then head downstairs to release the zombies, which he used as cover to escape through the secret room.:

Spoiler:

I'm in the same situation, more or less. He was confronted by the weaker half of the party, who basically had no answers to a flesh golem, but his cover was blown when the flesh golem went berserk and chased the party right into a bunch of town guards, a few of which got away. After destroying all incriminating evidence and escaping with the zombies and a wardrobe full of skins, he's all set to start up a new operation asap. He probably wouldn't even bother leaving town, but rather pick up right where one of his false identities left off.

So he's out for revenge for this inconvenience, sure, but he'd also like the PCs dead since they are the main witnesses against his former identity, and thus, if people are nosy enough, could lead to problems in picking up his old contacts with this new identity. Since the PCs now have 2 disguised fae working against them (long story), I'm going to do my best to make the angry mob a real threat, and even have him there as a ringleader, to give the PCs more chances to find him out and have a victory against him.

Yeah my PCs confronted (but did not attack) Vorkstag before the Angry Mob scene so I had him stir up the mob (adding +10 citizens).

If he escapes after the PCs assault the Chymic works I would definitely have him return at a later point in the campaign. Caliphas would probably be the most ideal place for him to pop back up. If you don;t have plans for Kendra Lorimor having her reunite with the PCs only to have her be Vorkstag in disguise can really drive the horror aspect home.

Actually THAT could be cool (Having him escape), but my groupe killed him outright. If PC's are missing XP between TotB and BM...he would do reall nicly.

If the group didnt discover the skinns or if he was able to salvage some. There can be several thinks. First of all there is the point of him beeing his own best friends in hight places.
I could see him taking on the characters via burocrathy, hiring Assasins, instigating mobs, poison there foods, steal stuff and place it in there belongings and (for the not so faint at heart) he can seduce a player.

Else I'm totally with Vrock. Have in come on again between Adventures o boost XP's.

Wow... this thread surprises me some.

Spoiler:
I didn't think this many Vorkstags would have escaped throughout people's games. Mine certainly did, right out into the sewers, but it was after a sequence of very lucky rolls for him. I do think I'll have him reappear in Caliphas, though. He's lost everything in Lepidstadt now that he's been unmasked (pardon the pun). At that point a wicked creature like him would take quite well to revenge.

When my group encountered him he killed one player and the rest ran away. I did not have him pursue them and instead had him disappear from the scene. I really like the idea of him encountering the group as Kendra.

Thanks for the great idea of how to bring him back into their lives.

Well it's easy to have Vorkstag escape while Grine takes all the work :)

Movie plot spoiler:
I changed a few thing in this encounter.

It's not mongrelmen who are working at the chemical shop, but children. These guys are evil after all!

Vorkstag escaped to the tower while Grine was fighting them. Later they went to the tower to find a child chained to a wall. They released him and told the child to go down with the other kids. It was Vorkstag in disguise, who escaped under the PC's nose :)

Yup, my Vorkstag escaped as well. The party let him (already wounded and facing lots of STR penalties from elsewhere in the Chymic Works) get away and then were suprised to find out he was the one causing all the problems! They were further surprised to see that he got out of the city so fast.
Its been a few months since we faced him, and I now have a chance for Vorkstag to make a surprise appearance trying to assissinate the PC's while they travel to Feldgrau. The party is desperate to stop in Ardis along the way to gear up.
Any tips/suggestions to use against them? I would like for him to escape again and perhaps catch up to them in Caliphas later in the story.

Dark Archive

My Vorkstag was imprisoned by the characters but escaped before his process when the characters where away in Castle Caromarc.

He now killed Kroitzer from the Ascanor Lodge and is following the characters. He will very soon find out that the PCs are to much for him to deal with.

Today I had the idea that he heard what the characters did in Harrowstone before. He will travel back to the Prison to ressurect Hean (who also has a personal grudge on one of my PCs) and both will return to hunt the PCs.
