Is it society legal to make your weapon vicious?

It was my understanding that society play did not allow for item creation which, if true, would make the answer "no."

If by make you mean spend the cost to upgrade it to having a vicious ability, then yes. So long as your prestige/fame is high enough. If the items is an already enchanted +1 weapon it will cost 6000 gold to do this.

Vicious is a pretty dangerous enhancement for a weapon in Pathfinder Society, where some fights last a while. Other than general healing, does anyone know of a way to mitigate the damage from a vicious weapon?

No worries Mill. But yes you can just watch out.
My Paladin will be getting one but he can lay on hands as a swift action.

Not sure, Chris. Maybe DR. Maybe. Cant think of anything else. Some ability that sends the damage to someone else.
