I am working on a new character for PFS it is a gnome samurai. The back story has him crossing over the mountains into Tian Xia. However, what ever happened to him to get over the mountains caused him to lose his memory. Once out of the mountains he is found by a samurai who takes him and trains him. Fast forward a number of years and the samurai master and his lord have passed and the gnome is now a full samurai loyal to the son of the original lord. When the new lord receives Amara Li request for adventures he send the gnome to Inner Sea to learn about the "other" pathfinders and to make contacts for the future. The gnome is hoping to learn where he came from or why he crossed the mountains.
That's the back story, now here are the questions.
First languages, as a gnome he starts with 3 known languages common, gnome, sylvan. However, in the back story he would have had to learn Tain. Since my INT isn't high enough to get a bonus language do I have to drop a language or do I just add the fourth?
Next question, I don't have access to a book on Tian Xia (if it is out) so I am needing help with a name. A normal (if gnome names can be called normal) name would not work as he has no memory of who he was or what he was called. I need a name that would fit who he is now. The character is LG and takes honor more seriously than any normal person. He is very white with solid black hair and blue eyes. He basically looks like a 3 foot porcelain china doll dressed as a samurai. If you are feeling inventive a name for the new lord would be helpful.
As always thanks in advance for any and all help.

In a home game you'd be ok, but in PFS your character must be legal.
You cant trade/swap out starting languages. So you are sunk just on the language thing.
The feat of cosmopolitan gives two languages and two new class skils... and I think there is a trait that gives 1 language. Either could be used. Alternatively you could raise INT to 12.
Or you can go the 'last samurai' lite route and just have his adoptive family, with merchant ties, just teach him in Common because he never could learn Tian.
The 'Common' of Tian Xia is 'Tien' but one of the paizo guys said that regional languages are also in the pipeline. If raised in Minkai, having that as a 2nd language (if you take the cosmopolitian route) is good.
Having a samurai that DOESNT speak Tien could be fun... then you can give him a funny japanese name that he thinks is real - if told what it really means he gets confused and just says he mustn't be pronouncing it right.
As for name?

I would suggest taking a trait that lets you take linguistics as a class skill if there are any. Also Gnome names tend to be garbled words pulled from whatever common language they speak. If you want a good Tian gnome name, use the same naming method that japanophiles use on deviant art by using google translate with random words that sound cool in Japanese.
Also Samurai specifically come from a country call Tian Min, a tropical island. Simply moving over the crown of the world will place you in Tian La, a much more Mongolian culture. While anybody can have class levels as Samurai, Tian La Samurai are probably more like cavaliers/warlords than the romantic depiction of Samurai. Your gnome would have to travel quite a bit farther than just out of the mountains to find a samurai, passing through fantasy mongolia, china, and possibly even korea before reaching Fantasy Japan. So maybe keep that as part of your backstory that every time you put a rank in linguistics you pick up another tian language you know to track what route you took through the world(s?)
One problem I do see with my suggestion is that mechanically it seems that for PFS play, there is only one Tian language.

Thanks to everyone.
I will drop sylvan and take Tian instead that should meet the language issue (I have yet to use sylvan anyway). I like the idea of him speaking gnome when he gets upset and no one knowing what he is saying and you can't really drop common.
I like the name Wa-Chan and will use it for the char.
Okay, so the Samurai is part of a trade group sent by the old lord to the main land in order to find new trading locations. This also fits in with my thoughts on why the new lord would send him to the inner sea. At some point I will have to decide what the goods are but that is for another day.
Again thanks this helps a lot.

Can you drop a race language?
I forgot Linguistics as a method of getting languages as well.

As long as the language is one if the ones listed in the Inner Sea Guide, and I think it is, then yes

1: Yes you may put a rank in linguistics to learn Tien. It is in the list on page 251 of the Inner Sea Guide campaign setting book.
2: there is aforementioned trait. that will work too.
3: In the Advanced Players Guide on page 15, there is a gnome racial option that allows you to drop your defensive training and hatred racial abilities for one that gives you two languages for every point spent in linguistics along with a +1 on bluff and diplomacy checks.

Is this option playable in PFS? Because that would work well with my character.

It is not disallowed in the Additional Resources, while other race options are. So, yes, it is allowed.

Yep. KNS is correct and you are free to use it with your character.
Just dont forget that you are supposed to have either the actual book, pdf, or printed page from your bookmarked pdf to provide authentication for gameplay.
edit: I really like that racial option, it helps me provide more of pathfindery or city gnome. One who has traveled but has not been somewhere participating in the global war on kobolds. :)
