Eidolon's Weapons


Rules Questions


So what happens to an eidolon's weapons/gear when it is dismissed? Do they fall to the ground or go to a different plane? Also, I know you can't stack the same slots for eidolon/summoner gear but if the eidolon is dismissed and is utilizing a slot (ie the amulet slot) and the summoner puts on an item for that same slot, would he/she reap the benefits while the eidolon is not summoned?


This question comes up every week, and has been FAQ'd countless times. For the sake of ease of gameplay and avoiding having the eidolon reequip itself everytime it is brought back I would say it keeps its stuff.
Not only that the summoner would have to carry all that stuff around, which really seems quiet silly to me.


That was the logic i was going to follow as well because i haven't seen a FAQ update on it.

Now I do wonder if the magic items that are duplicate between the two will activate while the eidolon is away since the eidolon isn't there to provide "interference" or what ever the reasoning was.

I don't think the rules care about whether or not the Eidolon is around or not, the penalties are still there. If you think that is harsh as a GM I can see it as an good houserule. For me it would depend on how good my players are. The groups that have been really good get less rules slack.


I guess it just becomes more of a hassle in order to get around the rule (if the GM isn't going to house rule it). It is really too bad that summoners are more complicated than need be, though I guess that should be posted in the Synthesist thread.
