When choosing to use a grit point to invoke the Gunslinger's Dodge deed, does the player spend the point after the results of the attack have been revealed, or before?

It's a good question, and I know why you're asking -- one is WAY more useful than the other -- but sadly, I think you likely have to spend it before results of the attack have been revealed.

Quote, emphasis mine: "When a ranged attack is made against the gunslinger, she can spend 1 grit point to move 5 feet..."

Yeah, you guessed my motives exactly! If it weren't such a huge difference, I probably wouldn't care what the answer is. I agree with your interpretation; it follows the general pattern of most rules, as well. Thanks for the response!
