Can anyone let me know about what adventures and sourcebooks there are for

The Scarlet Brotherhood
Suundi
The Vast Swamp

Other than the LGG?

Thanks.

There was a 2e supplement written by Sean K. Reynolds entitled simply enough: "The Scarlet Brotherhood"...

And who can forget that the infamous Tomb of Horrors and Return to the Tomb of Horrors is set within the Vast Swamp ;-)

Suundi

Grand Lodge

Original ToH isn't specifically in the Vast Swamp but, yeah, I'll break out the Return To.

Thanks.

I have the Scarlet Brotherhood book.

Grand Lodge

Thanks, Shadow Born but that's actually just a cut-n-paste job from the LGG. I appreciate the thought, though.

And I'm concerned with The Scarlet Brotherhood: the LGG map of the Tilvanos peninsula is radically different from the 4-poster map from Dungeon 117-120. Mostly the map discrepancies are small but there it is huge.

And I only have a few GH maps from the 80s, none with the area.

On my list to get from NobleKnight (actually, looking, it's already on the list, probably has been for a few years. Hehe

Grand Lodge

Heathy,

What can you tell me, if you have the willingness, about the high level NPCs and the organization structure/ hierarchy -- and even bigger to me, the geography of the peninsula. Anything you feel you have time to jot down for me would be awesome!

There's one dude named Bo Bo Po; he's a 7 foot tall sumo with all gold teeth, a really long pinky fingernail, and he only eats fetal calves.

You gotta be Suel to be a citizen. They got an Office of Purity that oversees fitness for breeding. You can marry whoever, even a noncitizen, but you gotta breed with who the Office of Purity tells you to.
The Brotherhood of the Scarlet Sign has thieves at the bottom, assassins in the middle, and monks on top.
But a kick ass thief has some upward mobility; it's more of a "status" thing....
monks are brothers/sisters.....higher ups are mother/father;
assassins are uncles;
and thieves are cousins....
and there's a few factions in the brotherhood.

The government's divided into offices, kinda like Ministrys in 1984 I suppose. Each is headed by one individual.

Just kidding.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

kinda generic breakdown

1 person marked this as a favorite.

There was a 2e sourcebook that never was called "Ivid the Undying" which detailed the Great Kingdom (post Greyhawk Wars)...

It was however made available as a PDF on WotC's website, and since the Vast Swamp is within The Great Kingdom...

The files can still be found HERE

Just scroll down until you find the "Greyhawk Campaign Setting" about halfway down the page...

Grand Lodge

You guys are te awesum.

l lovs you.

(But I still can't call you "Spanky," Heathy.)

The 2e mega-adventure Fate of Istus had an adventure set in the Scarlet Brotherhood's capital, with an accompanying "gazetteer"-type article. IIRC, it had a REALLY stupid ending, though, like "all monks in the entire world suddenly turn into thieves, for no apparent reason."

Sorry, I haven't played Grayhawk since the days when there was no more than a couple paragraphs on any given country or area. I got sucked through a portal into the Forgotten Realms, where I was trapped for a decade or so until I discovered a door to Sigil.

Grand Lodge

I love FR too. Moreso the North, Sword Coast and Thay/ Aglorond but it's all good.

And Golarion obviously.

And Ptolus.

And Sigil.

And Ravenloft 1983.

Freeport somewhat.

And I guess even Dark Sun and Krynn a little.

There is a Scarlet Brotherhood affiliation in Dragon #348 (based on the idea from 3.5 Player’s Handbook 2 – sort of like Pathfinder factions) that PCs can join and get some minor benefits from.

It’s pretty light on detail though - the whole thing is described in one page.

Not SB or VS, but.....
what has two thumbs and got Rary the Traitor at HPB for $5?

THIS guy.

Grand Lodge

I'll give ya $10 for it!

You can double your money.

I'm getting REALLY off topic, but I once got the Forgotten Realms 3.0 Campaign Setting hardcover, in very good condition, for $5.

I wound up deciding that I didn't care for the setting, but only after I got several times my money's worth.

Naah; I kinda like it.
