How to deny a target their dodge bonus

Advice

If you are fighting something with a crazy dodge bonus, how can you shut it down? Improved Feint I believe is one way... what about flanking etc?

Shadow Lodge

Feint, Flanking, Invisibility (greater if possible), smoke/mist to give concealment and make sure you have an ability to see through said smoke/mist (i think), surprise round.

Last I checked, Flanking doesn't take away Dodge bonus.

Yeah, flanking gives you a flat out +2 to hit but doesn't deny you your dex to AC - so dodge is fine here (everything else would be strange).

Grappling the target would be nice, but requires to hit first and that could be a problem. Also such a target should have a very high Escape Artist skill.

The "normal" method would be Invisibility/Stealth/Blindness (unless your target has uncanny dodge...) and feint.

The real solution could be SoS spells like Sleep or Flesh to Stone which totally negate anything like AC and Hitpoints at all.

Grappling wouldn't be enough in Pathfinder, you only lose your Dex bonus if you are pinned or you yourself are pinning your opponent, if both parties are just grappled then they instead lose -4 to Dex.

Yeah, ok, you need to pin. Either by having something that allows you to do it the same turn or next turn. But considering that, probably, hitting the opponent is the hard part, if you have him grappled in the first tinme, chance are you manage to pin him afterwards.

Dazzling Display + Shatter Defenses is the best way I've found to remove enemy dodge bonus. I have a dodge-based player in my game, and he usually wades past most enemies without fear of being hit. However, an Order of the Cockitrice Cavalier with Shatter Defenses wrecked him.

Other than that, invisability/greater invisability works very well too.
