Has anyone actually seen this spell used? It sounds like it could be so funny! Just wondering if there are any stories...
The swarm understands and obeys your commands and has
the statistics of a monkey swarm (Bestiary 2 212). Creatures
failing a saving throw against the mad monkeys’ distraction
attack are deafened for 1 minute as well as nauseated. The
monkeys attempt one disarm or steal combat maneuver each
turn as a free action against any creature that begins its turn
in the swarm, using your caster level plus your casting ability
score bonus (Intelligence for wizards; Wisdom for druids
and oracles; Charisma for bards, sorcerers, and summoners)
for its CMB. Recovering an item from the monkeys requires
a successful disarm or steal attempt against that CMD. An
object stolen by the monkeys takes swarm damage each round
the swarm is in possession of the object.

I haven't used it yet, but i do have a plan to use it.
I'm playing an arcane trickster. I took the cutpurse package for my rogue side, so I'm a good pick pocket.
I always keep this spell prepared when I steal from people so that should things go south I have a very loud distraction to let loose in the market place.
Edit: and I have a monkey familiar, which just adds to the hilarity.

Fighter 5/Shadowdancer 4 (think batman). Usual routine is HiPS->Spring attack trip/attack->HiPS. Now imagine this combatant pops out of the shadows and instead of tripping you he waves his hand. Suddenly a group of Mad Monkeys appears and begin attacking you!(Shadowcall) However! Just as they get to you, you realize they are in fact an illusion!? (DC 13 will save.) Then they beat your face in and steal your s@&& anyway. (20% chance to still work).
Note: I haven't actually pulled this off yet, but I've been trying to in every combat so far. One day!
Our bard actually ended an encounter with it before. Was mucho hilarious.

ok, thing that haven't happened ... yet.
Glyph of Warding trap on a wooden barrel that casts the spell Mad Monkeys - and see how long it takes the players to notice that it's a barrel of monkeys. Maybe have the monkeys scramble back into the barrel and close the lid at the end of the spell. Reset the Glyph?
Or a "Wand of Mad Monkeys" in the form of a small barrel shaped box. Again a Barrel of Monkeys....
