Ethnically, what culture / names are closest to that of Andoran?

I figured the Ustalavs were closest to the Slavs and the Brevoy names seem to be close to that as well.

What names best suit Andoran males?

French. Andora seems to be based on revolutionary France. Failing that, go with English.

Andoran = American in my Golarion.
Galt = French.
Taldor is the one I'm torn on. Originally I thought it was Rome/Italy, but lately I've settled on U.K. But I digress...sorry!

The UK is not a bad choice for Taldor, AND for the regions that Taldor once controlled (including Andoran).

Liberty's Edge

I've got a npc from Andoran in one of my games named John Columba. I think it captures the early American revolutionary flavor well.

you should Take a fighter, give him a pair of shields, dress him in Blue Tights and name him Captain Andoran!

Hrm... I'd like a special edition of the Guide to Andoran with Captain Andoran punching Queen Abrogail in the face. :P

That could be a lot of fun, throwing shields are available these days too.

I like this.

Consider "Jon Columba" stolen and any other with a similar flavor I can come up with.

The cover illustration of Andoran fits perfectly, with a bunch of American-Revoution looking soldiers being lead into battle by a Statue-of-Liberty with a flag.

That one always remind me of another piece of art.

Kajehase, holy crap it's the same painting!

(I think I dated her. A couple things of hers look familiar.)

Some of my equivalencies:

Andoran--the good parts of the French Revolution, plus the United States.
Galt--The worst parts of the French Revolution, obviously.
Cheliax--Renaissance Italy. The description of Westcrown struck me as thoroughly Venetian.
Korvosa--Dickensian London, if only because the first 'boss' of Curse of the Crimson Throne is a darker and edgier Fagin.
Taldor--A mix of the crumbling Byzantine Empire, and Spain/The Iberian Peninsula, which is where falcatas originate.
Ustlav--Transylvania and Romania
Irrisen--Russian myth
Brevoy--Russia

Mixed with the Soviet Revolution IMO.

Molthune seems to embody the bureaucratic hells of day-to-day life in the USSR and other Communist countries before the Fall of the Iron Curtain.

Andoran is obviously the USA. So much so IMO that when I get my faction's mission in PFS, I am always whistling the American national anthem.

Nirmathas is pretty much the USA too, but maybe rather Americana, the pioneer ideal mixed with anti-government philosophy

In Andoran I am still waiting for double golden arches to magically appear, which lowers the life span of all those living in Andoran.

Perhaps Ronald would be a good name?

Not helpful I know.

Wendy might work too. Perhaps Roy Rogers. Arby is a lame name.

Especially since they've gotten rid of all their kings of burgers and queens of the dairy.

Seriously, Andoran stikes me as early America and a lot of names that er once common might be a good way to go (Silas etc).

Come on, Andoran is the States. Eagle Knights, their colors, democracy.

And let's not forget the importance placed on free trade, which is clearly more American than French.

There, corrected that for you ;-) The Terror clearly belongs to Galt.
