Not Enough Money for Zen Archer?

Advice

When making a new monk character the starting wealth is 1d6x10, correct? A longbow cost 75 gp. Unless I'm missing something this pretty much means you have to start with a shortbow or crossbow. Is there a way to start with a longbow or composite longbow?

You could ask your GM nicely; otherwise, you will have to wait, or take the trait that grants an inherited weapon.

You still have to buy the Heirloom weapon.

Shortbow works fine.

Especially since like most archers you really want to be saving up for the enhanced strength MW composite bow anyway which no archer can afford from the get go.

Correct, but I dislike the trait. It's only useful at first level.

And the kicker? Composite Longbows are pretty popular low level loot.

My player noticed this too. I gave him a regular bow to start.

Liberty's Edge

Nobody has enough money at first level.

Spoiler:
My new barbarian started with a sling and a greatclub, and no armor. -- Total expenses: 0gp.

"Say...that's a mighty fine shiny suit of armor yer wearin' there -- do ya think it'd fit me?"

*klonk*
