As I recently replayed ocarina of time, I got hooked on the idea to run a short campaign in Hyrule, during the seven years between old and young link in OOC. The world will of course have to be a bit larger than in the game in terms of geography, but not that much really.
I'm wondering what the best way to go about with this is. Suggestions? I know there's been some d20 Zelda game made some time, is it any good? I have my suspicions.
Would the PF system work, or should I look for another rules system? Any ideas about where to get some more indepth lore about the OoT Hyrule?
I'm mostly playing in homebrew worlds and a little golarion, planescape and FR, so adapting a world that didn't have tabletop rpg's in mind when created is treading new ground for me.
Any help would be appreciated.

I took at look at the Zelda d20, and it became obvious that it was thrown together by Zelda fans who either preferred a simplified version, didn't have the game design skill necessary, or weren't heavy into tabletop gaming.
It's also a few years old.
Conversely, somewhere in the homebrew archives, someone was putting together some rules that would be a Hyrulian setting.
Ah yes, Here is one I even posted in and forgot. Here is another one
I think your biggest obstacle is going to be customizing the races and the bestiary. Fortunately, that's also something that's going to be really fun. You'll also have to make some new wondrous items (mirror shield, magic flute, grappling hook, so on, so forth)
Let us know what you find! I'm sure lots of people will want to see something flesh out.

I know its not much... but in Bestiary 2, there is a creature called the Greater Crawling Hand. For a Zelda game, just about perfect for that hand that could grab you from a dungeon and drag you back.

I would add in a vampire-esque weakness/aversion to Sun/light + teleport (only to dungeon entrance after beginning their turn with something pinned) and youve got yourself a winner. But I could be doing this sort of thing for days with zelda mobs. It sounds fun and I wish you the best of luck piecing the campaign together

Thanks for the help! Those other threads where really useful, startin' to design some puzzles now :)
One thing I realize is I have to chose between:
1. Keeping containers/flasks something rare, which feels stupid when it's not a computer game
2. Far more limiting fairys and potions, losing some of the charm.
