I haven't seen any thread on how to handle multiple "Roll twice and take the <best/worst>" effects.
So, how would more than one effect be handled in, say, these situations:
* Fortune+Misfortune
* Fortune+Perfect Strike
* Misfortune+Perfect Strike
Do you roll sets of d20s, or do you roll iterative results?
Meaning, in the case of Fortune+Misfortune, would it be
Worst of(Best of(2d20), Best of(2d20))
or
Best of(Worst of(2d20), Worst of(2d20))
OR
Worst of(Best of(2d20), d20)
or
Best of(Worst of(2d20), d20)

I see two feasible ways of handling this. The whole multiple levels of rolls thing is way too out of hand for me.
1. They cancel out. Roll a d20 and take the result.
2. Use the "Standard Doubling Rules" as applied to this. One of the abilities is "+1 roll, take the worst" while another is "+1 roll, take the best." Add that together, you get "roll 3d20, take the middle."
Personally I'd go with #1. It's just a game, that that's a lot more straightforward. It even makes sense that the two would just cancel each other out.

I'm wondering if there's any rules precedent?
If there's any sort of timing issue regarding which effect comes in first?
there is (just came across it):
Wall Scramble (Ex): A rogue with this talent rolls twice when making Climb checks and takes the better of the two rolls. If she already rolls twice while making a Climb check because of another ability or effect, she gains a +2 insight bonus on both of those rolls instead.
If the rogue is under the effect of a spell or ability that forces her to roll two dice and take the worse result, she only needs to roll 1d20 while making Climb checks.
