Hey there, I'm new here but I've been playing Pathfinder for a while.
Currently playing the campaign module "Expedition to the Demonweb Pits" converted for use with PF. I'm playing a Magus. I'm looking for a critique and recommendations on my build.
I started by reading Walter's Guide to the Magus.
It was extremely helpful and demonstrated that I was thinking all wrong about the character. We're starting at level 9 so I decided to go with a Dervish build. We didn't use point buy, we rolled for stats (7x 4d6, dropping the lowest of each roll and dropping the lowest score).
Str: 12
Dex: 24 (with belt of dex +2)
Con: 15
Int: 20 (with helm of int +2)
Wis: 12
Cha: 9
HP: 87
Resist Fire/Cold/Elec 5
Fort: 10
Reflex: 12
Will: 9
(Cloak of resistance +2)
AC: 27 with Celestial Armor, touch 17, Flat-footed 20
Feats:
Weapon Finesse -> Dervish Dance
Spell Penetration
Weapon Focus: Scimitar
Intensify Spell
Extra Arcane Pool
Trait: Magical Lineage - Shocking Grasp
Trait: Anatomist (+1 to confirm crits)
Wielding +1 Keen Scimitar, generally enhanced to +3 using Arcane pool.
Magus Arcana:
Arcane Accuracy (+int to hit for a round)
Spell Shield (+int to Shield bonus for a round)
Arcane Critical ((L/4)/day get 1 temp pool point on crit, currently 2/day)
11 Points in my arcane pool
-------------------
My Scimitar crits on 15-20 for x2 as well as any spell that I'm using along with it (generally an Intensified Shocking Grasp) so on a full attack with buffs I'm looking at:
Attack: +20/+20/+15
10d6+10 (scim + SG)/1d6+10/1d6+10
-------------------
So, this is my first Magus and I'm looking for suggestions on where I went wrong. I'd really appreciate your input. We all know this game is, deep down, about driving GMs crazy by being overpowered (okay, maybe not).
Thoughts/suggestions/pie?
This is a pretty standard Dervish Magus build, yeh?
