OK we are going to start Carrion Crown, and my DM has ok'd me to play a goblin. I want to play him possibly as an inquisitor. What I would like to do is tell you his back story, and see what you think about his deity and/or Domain.
As a young goblin Gripnok knew he was destined for something greater than the raids and foolishness of his brethren. As he grew and was taken from the cages of childhood he was wise enough to keep his mouth shut, and gleam what he could from his people. He developed a taste for cats, pickled food and several other Goblin habits, but he felt there had to be something more. Then one night during a raid he saw a cagemate perpetrating acts of violence on a child, and in that moment he could take no more. He drew his weapon and killed the other goblin. Within the goblin culture this act would not require banishment. It is what he did next that caused him to be chased from his tribe. He wrote as big as he could in the blood of the fallen Goblin one word STOP. During other raids he had taken books and hidden them and he had taught himself to read and write. He was immediately chased from his tribe. He ran as fast as he could until he came to the gnomish town of Umok. There he was taken in, caged and tortured. He would eventually escape, and realize from then on he had no place in the world to call home. Since then he would live his life on the move, and in survival mode. Each day he covers himself in the ash of the fire from his campsite the night before in homage to his burnt and spent potential, and then roams the continent taking the lives of monsters or opponents with no care sending them to the Boneyard. He is caught between two worlds with the habits of his goblin upbringing yet unable to go back there, and the wisdom oft associated with the humanoid races, and unable to fully take part in those cultures. He is lost, and alone and hopes only to find a place to be a part of something.

For your character, maybe Desna- Liberation domain. He may have learned about Desna from the Gnomes, and possibly was aided by a follower of Desna in his escape.
Another class that might fit even better for this back story is an Oracle, maybe it was the early guidance of a diety that caused him to go against the grain of goblin society.

Hm? An inquisitor is proficient with all simple weapons, plus the hand crossbow, longbow, repeating crossbow, shortbow, and the favored weapon of her deity. So Deity does matter for a specific weapon goal.
Edit: To be constructive, how about considering the animal domain, torn between two worlds as your character is, why not form a bond with an animal he finds in the wilds, letting that become his animal companion as per the domain's hallmark ability. Then take boon companion feat to bring its effective level up to yours for a full featured Druid level companion.
Edit v2: Animal domain granting deities are... Erastil and Gozreh I believe, Erastil being superior due to granting the Feather subdomain too, but both are solid and the important thing is the Animal domain itself, both giving that.

I thought Desna, too, what with the wandering around. Maybe the stars are his only friends. (I like travel domain, though -- I'm too much of a munchkin to pass up the movement and I kind of like the idea of a angsty, grumpy little goblin skittering everywhere.)

I like your ideas of having some kind of friend (companion, stars, etc...) I also found Andoletta Grandmother Crow. I thought that she could have been there since the beginning. He sees here as the only one has cared for him.
Domains Good, Knowledge, Law, Protection
Subdomains Archon, Defense, Memory, Purity
