Recently, in a post I was just throwing out the most ridiculous character ideas I could think of , and I hit pure role-playing gold! besides the paladin goblin who hates goblins not because they are evil but because they can play with fire and he can't
this is more of a character idea than a class idea
I want to make a rogue who is secretly ashamed about his love of dance, and hates the fact that every body assumes he is a master burglar. and instead of begin honest with the world and himself he continues to hide his love of dancing and pretends that he hates to dance.
and at night he sneaks into dance contests and wins the prize money and medal, he then returns to the thieves guild claiming another house "looted" he just happens to loot 1st place dance contest winners houses coincidentally. i want to play him as a reluctant but talented thieve. who hates people who dance! (but secretly wants to dance himself not going for a in the closet pun here but more of a wanting to break the thief/rogue stereo type)
with a secret shame of dance!
here is what i was thinking
and where i need the advice
skill profession (dancer)?
or perform (dance)
which of these can i make more money on?
also is skill focus a good idea here?
and for combat i wanted to make use of the whirling dervish? or dancing swordsman archetype or feat chain? the one with the scimitars and the dex modifier?
I know little or nothing about any dance orientated skills or attacks so can you guys help me come up with a level by level play say to level 7?
of what i would take?
his name will be fancy dancer
and i am not going for the sneakiest/deadliest rogue but he has to be able to hold his own in combat. i.e. the dance themed combat styles
and multi classingis okay also

Just take Dervish Dancer, and then focus on feats that facilitate your ability to sneak attack.
Since you can't do two-weapon fighting with Dervish Dancer, you might want to look at the Vital Strike line and focus on being a skirmisher - taking acrobatics and going down the Dodge-Mobility-Spring Attack line.
Since Rogues don't automatically start with Scimitar as a learned weapon you might want to pick up the Swashbuckler Archetype for the free martial weapon proficiency. (Plus you get a slight bonus to your Acrobatics that way.)
If trapfinding is too important to you, then picking Half-Elf as your race gives you the alternate race feature (Ancestral Weapon) that would let you pick Scimitar, or just blow your extra feat as a human to get it...
Perform is better for money than Profession. Mostly because it doesn't take a week to get results.
I wouldn't spend skill focus on the Perform, you get no other benefits from it besides the RP benefit.
