Shadow spell requirements and options

Rules Questions

1. If you use a shadow spell to cast a spell that requires costly material components or a focus, are those still required?

2. Can you use greater shadow evocation to cast contingency? If so, what happens?

1. The shadow spells only have components V and S, and don't mention anything about material components.

2. You are the target of the shadow contingency. You automatically disbelieve it without a saving throw, because you know it's an illusion. edit: The text for shadow evocation in my CRB contradicts itself at this point: as a non-damaging effect, the contingency either doesn't work at all, is 60% likely to work, or is 20% likely to work. If it succeeds, the other spell works normally (unless that too is a shadow spell).

Anyone can voluntarily fail a save, and it would make sense that spellcasters are capable of the mental gymnastics of failing to disbelieve their own illusions if necessary.

I hope I wrote precisely: p. 211: "A character faced with proof that an illusion isn't real needs no saving throw".

So you use something like erase memory on yourself so you don't remember whether you cast a real or shadow contingency.
