The title says it all, its her first time Dming and that's what I am thinking of playing. She is going to run mods from Paizo, I have no clue what to expect.
You'll want to expand on that a bit to get the best answers, I'd think.
E.g. how much experience does she have with RPGs in general?
A seasoned gamer could alter modules on the fly and account for things like a party size of one. If she's completely new at this, she may just accidentally kill you in short order, and then run away screaming. Kind of like the time I let my wife cut my hair... Flashbacks...
I'm not placing what a 'Brawler' is in the rules, (Barbarian rage power, maybe - Fighter archetype?) but it sounds like you might need heals of some sort. On what level are you starting? This will impact whether or not you'll get access to magic items during character creation.
Definitely first ask her if you can swap your character out later. That way if either of you makes a mistake in the approach, it can be fixed without killing the campaign.
I would probably suggest you go with some form of cleric, particularly one of Torag. This way you're still a dwarf and instead of smashing things with fists you can use a warhammer. You'll be a lot harder to kill and will wind up with at least a few utility spells as well.

Anyone can make anything work, but in general it seems the best "Jack of all trades" classes are Alchemist, Ranger, Bard, Inquisitor, Rogue and Druid; all of these have a good mix of skills, magic, and fighting power, especially with some of the archetypes available (of course the Rogue's magic is "virtual", through UMD, and they are tricky to play since you have to use hit and run tactics when on your own.)

This. If it's not much, the simpler the character you take, the better.

There is no better character for a solo game than a Paladin. Good damage, self-healing, good saving throws. If you choose the right archetype and feats, you even get access to some super useful spells.
Bard and Inquisitor are good second choices, though I've always firmly believed that a good DM will let you play what you want and work the game around that.
That said, your wife is a new DM, so I wouldn't trust her to not kill you just yet.

Mr. Fishy's Trollop runs solo games for Mr. Fishy on occasion...she murders everything Mr. Fishy's character loves. She tortures his friends, kills his lovers, steals his dog.
But Mr. Fishy gets to hit on every female character in the game, hero, villian, random bar wrench.
Play a bard and make your wife RolePlay your barwench conquest. She's going to subconscious punish you anyway so take advantage, make out with your DM.
