Mod note, this might belong in Off Topic.
Someone's apparently never heard of Bioware.
Best comment I read so far: "These games are not aimed at the Pokemon set. If your youngster is playing them, you already have a seriously flawed parenting style. A little rudimentary research could have gone into this piece, IMHO–log onto one of these games, get an idea of how it works and who's playing. Not hard to do, instead of posting such a factually incorrect and needlessly inflammatory piece."
So what if you're going to get some yub yub?

I love the knee jerk reactions from people saying, essentially, "Han and Chewie are gonna be gay now!" Because, umm, eww. Also, why do people assume that homosexual-oriented script content is going to draw in pedophiles?
The other funny thing is, most kids are not going to play TOR to the depth required to ever find this content. They'll be too busy shooting blaster pistols and swinging lightsabers to even realize you can interact with NPCs beyond picking up quests.
Beyond that, it's always funny to read alarmist and inaccurate articles about video games written by people who have never played video games.

I just find it funny because it's Bioware for crying out loud.
I mean I'd not let my godkids borrow my Dragon Age games w/o clearing it with their parents. It's called "Being responsible."
Besides I'm not familiar enough with the product. In Dragon Age, it's a solo game, if anyone commits to virtual playtime* (which I thought was tastefully done, BTW) But I'd assume even if in Star Wars you can get hit on by a Jedi PC, it's still going to be consentual.

People have a lot more to fear from actual human players than any content when it comes to MMORPGs. Some of the convos I have heard have been downright disturbing. Some even when youngsters have been present!
Some of the smack talk I hear a coworker tell me about on Halo is disturbing when you realize it comes from kids.

Looks like its time for a computer upgrade, and an end to my self imposed ban on MMOs.
My computer guru assured me that my computer could indeed run it ... excepting the whole "fighting" thing. An upgraded computer is not in the cards that soon unless I win a lottery or something.
Have fun!

I highly recommend this game, as I am currently in the Beta for it right now. Even with what we testers are looking for: bugs, exploits and the like, the game has a solid feel.
I am in the beta stress test this weekend. I do feel its very solid for a beta. Minumum lag and I had zero disconnects first time I played today.
I can't get into details. But so far to me it plays like a WOW reskined for star wars. I like WOW so that does not bother me.
But on the other hand, the only MMORPGs I have played are WOW ad TOR. So it could just be me.
