Checking interest in White Wolf / World of Darkness game

Gamer Connection

I'm thinking of starting up a White Wolf-based game. This would either be a World of Darkness game (and other related books, Vampire, Mage, etc) or it would be a Scion game. I've got copies of almost all the new White Wolf books and I've recently been looking through them again and getting curious.

This is not a recruitment thread, at least not yet, so there's no need to post character builds or anything. I just want to see if there would be any interest in a game and if so which one, Scion or World of Darkness. Maybe I would start something if enough people were interested.

DISCLAIMER
I have run/played D&D/Pathfinder for years. I'm already running and playing in a couple of Pathfinder games both IRL and PBP. However when it comes to White Wolf, I've played a game or two IRL but it's been a while and I've never run it. I say all of this to make sure people understand that if you are interested and I start a game up, it's going to be a pretty rocky ride at least for the beginning till I get my bearings on the White Wolf stuff. I just really like the settings they've designed and would love to create stories/adventures in the world they've envisioned.

I would be interested in playing either (pending how the campaign actually sounds, once that gets rolling) with a preference for scion over general WoD. Only problem is, I don't have the scion book, and don't have much in the way of ability to pick it up (no cash is the biggest)...also, I have the basic WoD book, but that's it for the current edition. I have quite a few second and third ed vampire stuff back in another state though.

I've played a fair ammount of vampire back in the day, and done a stint or two in most of the other games (werewolf, mage, changeling, wraith). I've played scion for one session and read through the book a bit (also read American Gods, which if you haven't read, you need to). Scion sounds like an amazing game with so much potential.

As for style of campaign, I'd much rather something that starts low and gritty and works it's way into the higher end. If we did scion I would definately like to play someone who just found out s/he was something more than human, and roleplay through the process of discovery.

I've played a lot of oWod and a bit of nWod, I would possibly be interested. Dotting here and I'll see what develops in my other games.

Dotting for interest too. I've larped in all the oWoD games and in the nWoD Vampire, Werewolf and Mage games.

Scarab Sages

I would be interested in either (the last SCION PBP died far too soon...). I have the SCION Books, the OWoD Vampire and the NWoD Core, Vampire and Werewolf books at hand.

This sounds like its for nWoD, which I have zero interest in. If it happens to be for VtM or oWoD in any shape or form, I would happily play and even lend a hand with running if needed.

Yeah this would be nWoD if I ran it. I don't have the old books and the little I've seen of the 2 editions, I'm more eager to mess with the new stuff anyways. There does seem to be some interest in Scion as well and I own all the books for that one too, so maybe that will be what happens. I'm still reading through stuff and seeing what my schedule looks like but I might open a recruitment thread sometime soon. With these games I'd be fine with a smaller party cause you don't really need to have the D&D 4 PC minimum type of setup, so even if it's only 2 or 3 players, that could potentially work.

So for those of you who've chimed in here, or others just finding the thread, what is your vote? nWoD or Scion? (nWoD would not be limited to any one type of characters, so Mage, Werewolf, etc could potentially be open.)

Shadow Lodge

Either nWoD or Scion is fine with me, they're all fun. Probably try a nWoD Werewolf.

If nWoD I'd play a mage or werewolf. Never played Scion before.

Scarab Sages

Both would be fine with me.

I would love to play in a nWoD game. I am very familiar with the Core and Vampire books. I have the other books in PDF form, but haven't read much of them. I have no knowledge of SCION or any of the books, so that may be a little hard.

As for campaign, I am down for whatever you want to throw at us.

This is likely asking a lot, but if the mechanics behind creating a character were handled by someone else I would vote for Scion. I'm familiar enough with the basics that I can give someone a good idea of what the character should be, I just don't have access to the book, and to my knowledge there is no SRD equivalent.

If Scion ends up being out voted, I'm fine with nWoD, though all I have access to is the basic WoD book, not any of the creature specific (vampire book, werewolf book). I would probably go for a vampire, as that's what I'm most familiar with, though there is a book out there for nWoD called Slasher that would be neat too...(not interested in playing a mindless killing machine twink by the way)

Dark Archive

I would be interested in a nWOD game.

I'd love to play in a WoD game. Less so Scion. I vastly, vastly prefere oWoD to nWoD, in both general taste and mechanics, though would be open to both. I am currently deployed, and honestly was just thinking aout wishing for a WoD PbP yesterday. . . :)

I have almost all the books for both, between physical and digital copies, and very very much impatiently awaiting V20. I prefere either VtM, "open games" that allow for whatever "race" (vampire, werewolf, etc. . .), or for nWoD semisupernatural mortals (second sight).

I'd be interested, going for nWoD.

Given the responses and my overall thoughts, I think I will go ahead and run a nWoD game. I will have a recruitment thread up soon that details my ideas for the game and what I'm looking for in characters. Glad to see people are interested and hopefully this will be a fun experience for everyone.

Shadow Lodge

Cool, cool. I can't wait.

Just curious if I missed the other thread, or if this is still going on? If so, could someone point me in that direction, please.
