Let the Monk make a Wish

Advice

Imagine you are a 5th level maneuver master monk with an AC of 26, a Strength of 24, a MV of 50, and a DR of 5 / -. You are a part of a 5 man team that just fought off a CR 13 Red Dragon but found yourself both unable to hit or hurt the monster, and you got PLASTERED by its first wave of attacks.

You know there will be another boss fight, soon, with another enemy you can't trip, disarm, or grapple; an enemy that's even more powerful. You need SOMETHING new to bring to the fight. You are about to hit 6th level and your GM will let you get practically anything.

What do you go for?

You should not be surprised that you were plastered by a CR 13 creature, if you're level 5. Being level 6 won't really help much in that case. That you're still alive may suggest the encounter is not one you're supposed to beat conventionally, but approach from a different angle.

No gold limit, one item?

A +5 Amulet of Natural Attacks that improves Deflection by 5, NA by 5, Insight by 1, +5 Resistance to saves, +6 Str, Dex, Con, Wisdom, and adds +1 competence to all attacks.

That would normally be expensive (as you pay more when you put a secondary or more effect on a existing item, but if free go for it).
Plus, you don't need to fill cloak/ring/Belt/Ioun Stones with Big six.

Gestalt with paladin levels so your saves can be through the roof and you can swift action heal yourself, while improving your BAB and hit points??????

A wraithstrike item that lets you resolve melee attacks as melee touch attacks.

Maybe tactical advice? You might be better off flanking and aiding another. Not very glorious, but sometimes taking one for the team can help the team succeed.

I'm actually the gm. I'm not THAT surprised, though I thought they would do a little better. It was a bit of a puzzle. The thing makes a area of fire on the ground to land in, then starts talking trash, "What vermin bring such powerful magic into my forest?" I explained that it looked like it was gathering its courage and trying to decide if it wanted to attack. They asked it if it wanted tribute, to which it replied it wanted the Paladin's holy symbol, armor, and shield. The party refuses and starts to grow some balls for a second, but continue to cower behind trees, which encouraged it to attack.

If they would have opened up on it with their 5d6 chain gun on their steam punk armor right away and had the 30 strength people just frenzy on it while it was trying to tell if these humans were dangerous, it would have just fled. It did end up running when they got it down about 100 hp, but half the party was wrecked by then, derailing their quest for a few days while they recover.

Ghost hands would be an awesome idea. The party sorcerer has the 3rd level spell Black Light. She hasn't cast it and has to use two 2nd level spells to do it.

When she does it the first time, probably very soon at the dungeon they are arriving at, I think I'll have it go badly, explaining she is caught in a vortex of negative chi or something. When the monk figures out to try to go after her, I'll give him the Wraith Strike.
