For a thought experiment I'm working on an archer character.
So, I'll ask. What items and feats and enchantments work best on archers. All I'm concerned with atm is raw attack bonus, though damage is a plus.
All I can think of is; Greater Snap Shot will help you in Ultimate Combat book p.103. But here is the big but. a lot of prerequisites: Dex17, Improved Snap Shot, Point-Blank Shot, Rapid Shot, Snap Shot, and BAB +12.

Depends on the archer. Some archers use wis, some use dex.
As for straight up highest attack bonus possible a fighter can't be beat with Weapon Training, Weapon Focus line, and all that.
You might also get away with an urban barbarian.
Item wise theres bracers of archery.

Rapid Shot
Many Shot
Deadly Aim
Point blank Shot
Precise Shot
Weapon Focus
What you should be concerned about is amount of attacks and damage bonuses. However don't ignore to hit bonuses. Boots of speed, ATR belt dex and str, Celestial Armor, and Seeking composite bow.
Fighters do the most consistent damage.
Paladin's have better defenses and do better damage than fighters against evil creatures.
Rangers are the best out of combat and make good trackers, skill monkeys, and trap disablers.

Well, where I'm at right now I have this (note there is heavy multiclassing):
19 bab
3 wpn training
12 ish dex
5 weapon
2 rage
2 weapon focus
2 bracers
Bracers are competence bonus if I recall right, at the level of the game where you are at it's best to label them as such.
You have heroism (normal or greater) or other moral bonus available, haste bonus, size, possibly more dex, possibly more weapon training, etc.
Building PCs already at level 20 is a real chore and is almost never done right. Give it some more thought and likely you can get more out of it.
