pull special ability and freedom of movement

Rules Questions

Scarab Sages

can freedom of movement prevent the pull special attack - like from a roper? It is not grappled, and it does not do a combat maneuver check that references pin or grapple.

Grand Lodge

Freedom of movement doesn't prevent you from being moved against your will. It doesn't, for example, negate a bull rush. However, on your next turn, you could automatically escape from anything fastening you, like a roper's strand, then move away again.

Scarab Sages

Except that there is no listed escape artist chance.

I understand that Freedom of Movement grants: "The subject automatically succeeds on any combat maneuver checks and Escape Artist checks made to escape a grapple or a pin."

However, the only way listed to escape from a roper's strand is: "These strands are quite strong, but can be severed by any amount of slashing damage (a strand is AC 20)."

Or am I just missing something?

Grand Lodge

The subject can also escape from effects that usually impede movement, such as solid fog and web, or even prevent movement, such as paralysis.
