I suppose just about anything I write could possibly be a spoiler, so better safe than not.
In my Runelords game, the group allowed Orik to negotiate for his life & freedom, and they let him go.
The Crimson Throne group caught Verik alive & turned him over to the Field Martial.
So, I'm trying to decide what, if anything, I should do with these characters in the rest of my Crimson Throne game. Would the Guard execute Verik for abandoning his post? The PCs never actually figured out what the Hammer Boys were up to, mainly because they didn't look. Does Orik really have any good role possibilities in this AP?
Saul isn't a factor. I actually tried running Second Darkness a while back, never finishing it due to the players feeling it jumped the shark with the third adventure after a strong start. One of the PCs did, however, kill Saul, so that will stand as a part of history in my game.

Verik was also taken alive and turned over to the authorities in my campaign. At this time (7days) he is in Longacre prison. My plan is to have him redeem himself and become a leader in the resistance late in the game. I am planning on running the campagin beyond the offical end and he will have continued role.
Orik could fit in anywhere you need him. Perhaps hearing of his brother's problems he shows up in town and gets involved with one side or the other. None of my players have played in RotRL so I have no use for him.

The exact same thing happened in my game (last game session actually).
I don't intend to have him executed. I'm debating having him either leave the guard legitimately or being demoted and helping the guard once things really go south in the city. I haven't decide which yet. I haven't run any other AP's so there's no knowledge of any other Vankaskerkins, though I may run SD or RotRL after this... or concurrently with another group. Anything that happens between the campaigns will be cannon in the world though.
