Third Party / Homebrew settings

Product Discussion

So I was wondering: Has anyone published new settings for Pathfinder yet?
When people reference a setting in their campaigns, it's usually Golarion or Eberron, but it would be interesting to see what else people are doing with PF.

We at LPJ Design have done Obsidian Twilight, our Ravenloft / Dark Sun inspired mash up, and upcoming this fall, NeoExodus: A House Divided Campaign Setting.

I'd like to see the Midnight setting revised for PF.

But no nothing published although all we play is homebrew settings.

The folks at Epidemic Books published the setting Oathbound Seven.

They're in development, but you can contribute to both of them as a patron-- Open Design has Midgard and Rite Publishing has Questhaven.

Questhaven is our primary default setting.

We also have Lands of the Jade Oath (Wuxia) and Kaidan (Japanese/Horror)

FFG currently has no plans for Midnight, which is a great shame. I had both RL and pbp games in Midnight using Pathfinder - and it was great. I plan to run a high-level game soon.

My current home campaign takes place in the Kingdoms of Legend campaign setting from Interaction Point Games.

I meant published in the sense of "being made available to the public". Anything that people can take a look at.

Enworld (I believe) also has a steam punk campaign setting. Zeitgeist

There seems to be a severe lack of medieval and pre-medieval settings.

Suits me just fine. (Time to bring out the barbarian kings and wild beasts.)

Open Design is working on the Midgard Campaign Setting. It is probably a year away from final release, but patrons have access to the beta document. It looks amazing so far.

The setting began with the Zobeck Gazetteer in 3.5 , but there are a few PF adventures and supplements for it already.

The aforementioned Kingdoms of Legend setting takes place in an alternate-history Earth in the year 1415; it's pretty medieval in style.

Have to agree - I think the Midgard Campaign Setting is going to be very cool when it comes out!

http://rhunedawnoftwilight.com/ is one I have been reading up on.

Is there anything known about it, except who is doing it?

You can get the details here.

Which tells us that it's a eastern europe inspired setting.
Which is a nice idea for a change, but I wouldn't call it promissing or interesting based on only that single fact.

Raging Swan Press released The Lonely Coast - a free mini campaign setting last year designed for low-level game play. You can read more here - or download a free copy here.

We know a bit more than that:

Seven Regions of Midgard

1) The Crossroads is the heartland of the setting, containing the Free City of Zobeck, the dwarven Cantons, and Margreve Forest, as well as the Magdar Kingdom. Filled with shadow elves and clockwork magic, this is where plots come together and blades cross!

2) The Dragon Empire of the East is ruled by its Sultan and his harem assassins, a place of fierce elemental gods and expanding power. Also includes a visit to the Flying Cities of Sikkim, and possibly the tombs of the River Lands to plunder.

3) The Grand Duchies of the Princes are the wealthiest of Midgard’s lands, heirs to elven civilization but very much filled with the pride of human accomplishments. Visit the ruins of the elven city of Thorn, dare to enter the Elven Court of Arbonesse, or simply take the ready money of adventuring companies in the Free City of Salzbach and its 10,000 riches.

4) The Northlands and Elflands are snowy realms held by the reaver dwarves and thursir giants, home to Thule and the Lands Beyond Knowing. Valkyries come calling, frost oracles and linnorms prowl, and a dozen mysteries await the warrior who can carve a path of steel.

5) The Seven Cities, once the great urban centers of empire, now these city states feud in a state of perpetual war. Their weapons are poison, guile, and steel, their goals to serve their oracles—or to amass great wealth and power.

6) The Wasted West, haunted lands of the wizards’ magocracy, towering horrors on blasted heaths, the wasteland of ruined kingdoms fallen into goblin realms.

7) The Tsars and Steppes with their cold gnomish hells, nomadic Rothenian elves, infernal princes, bloodthirsty centaurs, and crazed slaver despots!

Seven Cities and Wasted West have completed drafts. Tsars and Steppes is getting its draft written now. The Dragon Empire is currently being brainstormed.

As a patron, I'm not certain how much I should share at this point. I can say that the city states have lots of potential for adventure. I especially like the isle with minotaur pirates. The wasted west is also full of potential, with goblin tribes, ghost giants, and terrible horrors.

And having read previews and posts as it has grown, I think it's going to be an intriguing setting.
