Weapon Snatcher Question

Quote:

Weapon Snatcher (Ex): A rogue with this talent can make a

Sleight of Hand check in place of a combat maneuver check
when attempting to disarm an opponent.

Just a question... Bonuses from Improved Disarm and Greater Disarm can be applied to the Sleight of Hand check?

Hm, now that's an interesting catch.

For reference:

Benefit: You do not provoke an attack of opportunity when performing a disarm combat maneuver. In addition, you receive a +2 bonus on checks made to disarm a foe. You also receive a +2 bonus to your Combat Maneuver Defense whenever an opponent tries to disarm you.

Alright, the ImpDsrm text is interestingly (sloppily?) phrased: the bonus just says "checks made to disarm a foe", so clearly it would work with the rogue talent you're looking at. Strangely, however, the first benefit (where you don't provoke when you disarm), specifically says it applies to "performing a disarm combat maneuver". So by the strictest reading, a weapon-snatching rogue with ImpDsrm would still provoke.

But that's silly, so I think if you consult your GM ahead of time he'll probably let the full benefit of the feat apply. It's very likely that the feat was worded without the talent in mind, so the likely RAI is that ImpDsrm's full benefits apply to Weapon Snatcher.

The bonuses should work with the rogue talent in effect- it replaces the CMB check, but you are still performing the maneuver.
