It's been years since I last looked in any of the older edition books. Not sure what happened to mine (or all my cassettes, either), but I ran across this blast from the past:
Harlot encounters can be with brazen strumpets or haughty courtesans, thus making it difficult for the party to distinguish each encounter for what it is. (In fact, the encounter could be with a dancer only prostituting herself as it pleases her, an elderly madam, or even a pimp.) In addition to the offering of the usual fare, the harlot is 30% likely to know valuable information, 15% likely to make something up in order to gain a reward, and 20% likely to be, or with, a thief. You may find it useful to use the sub-table below to see which sort of harlot encounter takes place:
00 – 10 Slovenly trull
11 – 25 Brazen strumpet
26 – 35 Cheap trollop
36 – 50 Typical streetwalker
51 – 65 Saucy tart
66 – 75 Wanton wench
76 – 85 Expensive doxy
86 – 90 Haughty courtesan
91 – 92 Aged madam
93 – 94 Wealthy procuress
95 – 98 Sly pimp
99 – 00 Rich panderer
An expensive doxy will resemble a gentlewoman, a haughty courtesan a noblewoman, the other harlots might be mistaken for goodwives and so forth.
------------
This always got a laugh back in the day. Apologies to those who still have their old books, but I hadn't seen it in a long time.
So, to my question: What are the stat differences between a wanton wench and an expensive doxy? Anyone converted it to PF?

Wanton Wench probably has an average charisma, low to average intelligence, and low to average wisdom.
An Expensive doxy, on the other hand, is probably average to above average in all of those. She is basically better at gauging how much she can get from any given person, and has enough common sense to say that "below X amount of money, I can't pay to get it cured if I catch something. Therefore, you're too cheap for me."

These should all be prestige classes.
For certain levels of prestige, perhaps...
Well, the gamemastery guide for PF has sample stats for several street character, including a prostitute, which it statted as expert 1/rogue 1. I'd say expert 1 or 2 is more likely, rogue levels are imo appropriate only for those who have taken more than a few ranks in the school of hard knocks - the rest can just have a rank or two in various thief skills.
The stat block gives them intelligence of 12, wisdom of 10 and charisma of 17. The last is almost absurd imo, and likely due to the book using a standard NPC stat block with a single 15. The problem is that imo 14+ stats are not just above average, but quite high. Charisma 17 is on the high end of what is humanly possible - this is what a prodigal entertainer, courtier, or politician would have. A prostitute that talented would likely be a high-class courtesan or advance the ranks and run her own business; she certainly won't be a streetwalker for long.
For example, the "saucy tart" kind imo implies intelligence in the 11-13 gap (some natural smarts, but likely without formal training or experience), a wisdom of 8-12 (some may be average or a bit reckless with a mouth faster than their brain, some have a bit more common sense and a sharper eye than most people) and a charisma of 12-15 (bold, a way with words, likely to have good or at least striking appearance). Just how high these scores are will likely depend on the person in question.

I'll take one of each please! Except maybe the slovenly trull, the sly pimp, and the aged madam, that is.
My personal favorites are the "Saucy tart" and the "Wanton wench". Actually I could do with a few of those in real life too! Lol
