Do feats transfer through polymorph spells?

Rules Questions

1 person marked this as a favorite.

This is really two questions:

1)Will a wizard gain the feats, say Weapon Finesse, of the animal he turns into using Beast Shape X?

2)Will the animal he turns into benefit from his relevant feats, say Improved Initiative?

You never get the feats of the forms you turn into using polymorph or any polymorph effect. However, you always benefit from any feats YOU possess as long as it's possible to use them (and shifting doesn't cause you to no longer meet pre-requisites).

Polymorphing has been significantly dumbed down since 3.5, and rightly so. When assuming a new shape via a polymorph spell you gain the creature's shape (natural weapons) and anything explicitly stated in the polymorph spell.

Take a look here to read up on the polymorph rules.
