When the PCs enter Brinewall Castle the DM reads that in seven areas of the Castle are clues that the PCs can discover about what happened here so long ago -- solving the Brinewall mystery during their magical mystery tour.
But....
There's only six locations that have a Brinewall Clue.
Those six (that I've found -- let me know if I'm missing one!) are:
T2
T7
T12
T18
U10
U12
I assume that the text reading that there are seven is a typo; there are only six.
Yes?
What happened to the other clue? Was it edited out? Is it just a typo and there were never supposed to be seven? What was the seventh clue if it existed?

In the adventure's first draft, there were something like a dozen or more clues scattered all over the place. But when we decided to shave several pages from the adventure to do the NPC and magic item sections at the back, those clues were among the first things I ended up having to compress in order to make things fit. (Another was a late-changing redraw to Brinewall dungeon that cut its room numbers roughly in half... a change I think was actually for the better since it makes the dungeon smaller and more action-packd.)
As a result, the shrinking numbers of clues ended up changing several times, eventually settling at the six, I believe, that are still in there. I didn't really "cut" clues, though, as much as I combined them.
The point at which there were seven clues (assuming I'm remembering correctly and that seventh isn't still lurking in there somewhere) had one batch of clues in one of the armories off of area U16, but that clue was pretty much the same exact clue that was repeated in area T12—traces of an ancient battle with gouges on the walls. Originally, area T12 didn't have gouges, if I recall right, and moving the gouges from U16a to consolidate with T12 saved me five or so lines of text.
