Hiya.
I'd go the simple and easy way:
* No Armor = 0
* Light = DR 1
* Medium = 2
* Heavy = 3
For 'natural' armor, I'd probably make it similar in ranking to the above, divisible by, say, 3 (rounding down)...
* Nat Armor 0 - 2 = +0
* Nat Armor 3 - 5 = +1
* Nat Armor 6 - 8 = +2
...etc...
Simple, and easy to calculate on the fly. For magic adjustment, perhaps add 1 per + up to a maximum equal to the normal maximum for the armor type (e.g., +1, +2, +3 for Light, Medium Heavy); that way the DR doesn't get totally out of hand.
