For some reason, I can no longer change any of my avatar pics.
It tells me "That avatar name is already in use by another account". I get the same message on all of my profiles.

Same issue here -- I can make a new alias and choose an avatar, but I can't change the avatar for an already-existing alias; when I click the change avatar button, I get the message "That avatar name is already in use by another account."

Huh. Last night when I posted this, the (1 new) wouldn't go away for my post. This morning, the post is gone from the thread but still in my recent posts.

I'm having a similar problem as well. I can't even seem to apply an avatar to this profile at all!

You should be able to set a character image at:
https://secure.paizo.com/paizo/account/settings/messageboard
If it's still preventing you from setting one can you let me know if its throwing any errors or where it seems to be failing? Which browser you're using may be able to help me reproduce the error as well. Thanks!

Hey coach,
The issue is appearing because there is another account sharing the same avatar name - "coach". That's why you seem to be the only one encountering the issue. So the system is working as intended for avatar images, what we actually have to figure out is how the avatar name data got into that state.
well can i submit a choice of avatar pics and someone in tech switch it for me?
We reached out to the duplicate account, but have not yet had a response. I've done a short term adjustment and you should now be able to change your avatar properly. We apologize for the inconvenience!
