Question about Intro Adventures

I'm preparing to kick off our local PFS group with In the Service of Lore. One player joined PFS at GenCon with Frostfur Captives and has 1XP and a faction already picked.

Is his character too advanced to play this adventure, or is it okay because he is still 1st level? Wasn't sure if there were special restrictions on the Intro adventures....

I believe he needs a new character; the First Steps series is intended for characters who have not yet chosen a faction.

It is not so much the faction already being chosen, since you could just pretend you do not have a faction yet, but also the fact that he already has one XP and would not be able to play all three parts of the new intro series, since you have to be 1st level for each of them. If you are going to run all three parts and he does not want to make another new character, let him play a pregen for part one and then play the character with one XP for parts two and three.

I don't see why not. Sure, the character couldn't finish the whole series, but that would be the player's choice then. He/she could create a new character, or play with his current one.
