How far can we push the limits of this tiny useful spell?
My ideas:
Small glass globes covering a floor to create an impromptu alarm
Pinches of sand on an incline to create an difficult surface
Tiny piece of sticky web to create a door opening detector
Small bits of bone/metal/wood in food to frustrate relations with an NPC's cook
Misflavoring an item of food/drink(see above)
Create tiny colored blocks of wood or cloth to leave a coded message
Flavoring a food/drink item intensely to cover bitterness of poison

As far as the alarm type applications this spell only lasts for an hour, so unless you like to wake up all night and recast it, probably not a great choice.
It certainly will not change the "condition" of any kind of space (ie. make it difficult terrain)
4 - 7 all sound reasonable though.
It is pretty much the catch all spell for low level effects. Our party used it the other day because the alchemist had gotten himself into a situation where he was covered in sticky poison. We used prestidigitation to wash away the sticky poison and solve the problem, the DM wasn't keen because we had used a cantrip to solve the problem. We had to remind him that the immunity to poison was solved by being a high level alchemist, the only problem solved by the cantrip was the fact it was gooey.
