I honestly want to know your opinion on who would win between an urban ranger and a sniper rogue. For those of you familiar with the show Deadliest Warrior, use that criteria. For those of you who arent, each opponent has a considerable edge in 4 categories: Close range combat, mid range combat, long range combat, and special (rangers spells, sniper stealth, etc.) Begin debate....NOW!
Extra Information:
The Ranger is a switch hitter, with a falchion (improved crit) and a wolf mount/companion of equal level (boon companion)
The Rogue has a level in gunslinger, allowing him the use of guns. He also owns sniper goggles, and has a rifle.

All I have time for at the moment, but for a Long Range on the Rogue side:
- Make it a Halfling for the Swift as Shadows so your Stealth while moving penalty is reduced by 5, and sniping is reduced by 10.
- At 10th level, grab Stealthy Sniper Advanced talent and stack that for a 0 penalty for sniping (this one changes the penalty to -10, while the racial ability "reduces" by 10, making it 0).
- Far Shot + Sniper's Accuracy means you'll have a good chance at hitting at even your furthest ranges.
- Grab Camouflage and a good +Perception item to find your enemies and have cover anywhere.
- Already have the Sniper Goggles, so all Sneak Attack applies on these shots.
Result: Shooting from 1000 feet away (-100 penalty to perception checks to see through the Stealth), dealing Sneak Attack damage all the time, with very little penalty. One shot a round, but really.. it'd be a pain to try and deal with that.
Pick up Shadow Strike to attack people even if they have some concealment (but not total concealment) with Sneak Attack damage.

We also need a few dozen "X-Factors", don't forget that. Alas, I don't have Microsoft Excel on this machine. ;)

At high enough level, they both have hide in plain sight (or Blend In for the ranger, but just as effective in this scenario), and both probably have the same favored terrain potential with UC.
The fight ends in a draw; they can never find each other. :p
Wolf may be able to use scent, but with the distances involved, and rooftops and buildings available to break up the terrain, the sniper should be able to easily avoid the wolf ever being close enough.
Ranger wins close range. Better BAB, better weapon training, wolf scent to prevent sniper from getting close. Also, the sniper never wants to be close anyways.
Mid range is a wash. With terrain factored in, ranger getting a charge is unlikely. Without it devolving into close combat before one of them has a chance to re-stealth easily, it is effectively long range.
Long range, sniper wins, if they ever see each other. With targeting touch ac, the rogue can actually hit the ranger reliably, or take out the wolf from range. And with a merciful rifle and sap adept the rogue should deal sufficient damage to burn out the ranger's heals without trouble. (Sap adept + sniper goggles = 4 extra damage per sneak attack die). Ranger does decent range damage as well and with a full BAB shouldn't have much trouble hitting. I still think it slightly favors the rogue though.
Ranger wins on utility, because spell lists pretty much always do.
What may give the ranger significant advantage is if the ranger is high enough level to cast find quarry, and is familiar with the rogue already.

Note that it's pretty easy to overcome Scent with an overpowering smell, ruining the wolf's ability to smell. The short game might not be as perfect for the ranger.
I don't have UC, but I remember there being some feat or option that let's a rogue give up a first attack to do Sneak Attack damage on remaining attacks (or something like that). This could be quite devastating for close range without needing to get into "how do I get them Dex-denied".
Weapon Finesse is an easy pickup feat for the Rogue (several methods to get it), and he's Dex-based anyways.
I think the close range might be up in the air with the new options a Rogue can get in UC (is poison a now general option since he can grab a Ninja trick?).
I wonder if utility might be offset with grabbing Ki points option too.
It'd be a pretty close call. Both working together could make an awesome two-PC combo for sneak-games.

If you truly want to mimic Deadliest Warrior you have to decide who you want to win, then rig the tests.
Heh, yeah.. the show has very little merit when it comes to any of the conclusions. I couldn't even finish watching the first season before this aspect really irked me. A lot of the "values" felt kind of arbitrary to me.
It was fun to see the stuff they find out during empirical testing though (the little that does happen, like the damage a weapon does in slow-mo, etc).

This, basically. You don't watch Deadliest Warrior for accurate assessments and historical fidelity, you watch it to enjoy people using really cool weapons to slaughter pig carcasses, gel torsos, and foam targets.
