Magus and Melee / ranged touch attacks

Rules Questions

I have heard that melee/ranged touch attacks count as weapons for the purpose of feats and abilities.

Can the arcane pool ability be applied to a melee or ranged touch attack granting it a damage + attack bonus and or any special properties .

also could i take weapon specialization in touch attacks?

Don't have access to my book to look up the arcane pool part, but you can take weapon specialization in "ray" for ranged touch attacks. I want to say the other end, melee touch attacks were covered with "unarmed strike." So you'd have to choose your focus, melee or ranged, with the spec.

Off the top of my head my gut says no about the arcane pool for touch attacks. If you were using it on your hands for unarmed strike, it would have to be resolved as a "real" attack not touch attack. Touch attacks don't inflict damage on their own, but are the vehicle to inflict many spell effects (which in turn do damage), so the bonus to hit might come into play, but the damage and weapon properties granted by arcane pool wouldn't.

No, Yes. But the specialty and focus would be Touch Attack, or Touch Attack (Ray)
