I have to say I am extremely disappointed what has been unauthorized with Ultimate Combat.
All Archetypes dealing with Guns other then Gunslinger have been unauthorized. I know there are those that will be happy about this, but for me this is very upsetting.
What is the reasoning for this? Why is only way to have a Gun the Gunslinger class only?
Argh...I have been looking forward to playing a Spellslinger since I heard about them at PaizoCon and this just dashed that. I can't explain enough How upset I am about this.
It is not even a balancing thing or a Rules reason that would Unbalance PFS play. There is not a thing about those Archetypes that would make them unplayable in PFS play.
I have seen reason why to ban some archetypes or abilities in the past, because they would not work in PFS play, but for these that is not the case.
ARGH!!!!!!!

It is even Worse..
They did not even ban Amateur Gunslinger feat, and anyone buy Firearms if they have the Gunsmithing feat.
So why Ban those Archetypes!!!

Just because something appears in a hardcover PFS book does not mean it exists in Golarion. Guns exist in Golarion, but at this point, we don't have any gunmages or Solomon Kanes. These archetypes may be added in the future, but there are currently several options for PCs wanting to play with guns, either as full-fledged gunslingers or members of other classes. Only the gunslinger gets a gun and the feats to use it for free, though.
Given the hot-button issue guns in fantasy RPGs can be, this was the fairest and most easy to define line we could draw for how available they are in the campaign.

Another thing is, why are Inquisitions for Inquisitors legal from Ultimate Magic, but they're not legal from Ultimate Combat?
I know I haven't received my copy yet, but it just seems really odd.
Both inquisitions in Ultimate Combat are gun related.

I too, am really disappointed about the lack of Spellslingers in PFS. I think they’ll be a highly popular player choice due to the originality and steampunkiness of their class concept and there’ll be a lot of folks disappointed that they can’t play wizards pouring evocation magic into their gun chambers or firing off magically charged rounds into beasties.
At a low level playtest of the Spellslinger I have to say they weren’t optimised or overly powerful at all. With the lack of reloading options, their ability to outdamage was half that of the other characters. I can understand that Golarion may not have fused magic and guns yet, but honestly, give a gun to a Gnome and this tech would be established in about two weeks.
It's a shame.

It could probably have been phrased better - the description makes no reference to the UC Inquisitions in particular and states that ALL Inquisitions are illegal. This appears to actually be retroactive which I'm sure isn't the intent.

That text is in the UC section of the document; it doesn't follow that it would apply to other books.

That's the problem. Golarian isn't at the level of appropriate steampunkiness. A world like Eberron would be though.
Maybe at some point they'll do a new PFS campaign where steampunky archetypes would be more appropriate than some of the core classes. :)

Despite the fact that I am a HUGE lover of the Gunslinger class, I have to say that I'm quite quite pleased with the restrictions.
From experience early on with the playtest, i can say that having a table full of Gunslingers is precisely 0 fun, especially if someone decides to light a damn torch. (Grr!)
BTW, does anyone know if the rule about being weak to Non-magical fire made it into Ultimate Combat? i loved the flavor and balance that put into the class, and injected a very high-risk feel into the class. Just seeing where you're going was a challenge!

Fix a hooden lantern (with a sunrod inside) onto your barrel. Instant gun-torch!

...Does Duct-Tape exist in Golarion? Can we get a ruling please?

I'm being extra careful to be civil, but I must vent my disgust. I understand the reasoning for why the decision was made, but I personally feel it was the wrong decision.
Personally, I feel that Ninja and Samurai running around are just as much of a "hot button issue" to fantasy roleplaying as firearms, yet neither of these were gutted out. Not to mention it becomes another yet another instance of me purchasing a product... only to find out that just as I get done with my business trip and my schedule realigns to start playing PFS again, that almost everything I was interested in using from my new purchase is banned, and the reason? Basically it's a trussed up version of "The grognards might not like guns."
Some things I understand, performance combat, sure - it's a whole new subset of rules that requires that every GM has to buy an optional book, I get it. Item creation? Sure. But seriously, things are now getting banned just because some people might not like them? To me, that is just frivolous.
If there's Gunslingers, then there's guns. If it's really that big of a deal, require a level of gunslinger to open up the other archetypes.
And I'm sorry, I don't usually vent like this, but I have a really hard time getting excited about Pathfinder Society when major portions of books are getting banned for "flavor" and to appease grognards, and not for legitimate rules reasons.

I'm okay with this. Seriously. When can I expect a supplement on the topic?

Anybody can help me?
I bougth "the ultimate combat" and I afraid no understand the gunslinger; the player gain all the Deeds aviable for his level or must choose a deed in the suitable level (1º,3º,7º,11º...)
you can use any deeds for your level, you spend grit points determined by your wis mod to use them.

That's what I was looking for, thank you. Even once you said it was there, the blue text didn't stand out among the red and black.
