I've been wondering a while now whether it would be a good idea for there to be more attributes for a character, or if some attributes should be handled differently.
For instance, while Dexterity is often used, I keep thinking that it ought to be broken down into two categories: Manual Dexterity (fine motor skills), and Bodily Agility (gross motor skills). I think this becomes important because a race like the Dwarves might not be graceful overall (have a -2 Agility) but could have a relatively normal Dexterity (they're good with their hands).
Another thing I keep wondering about is the use of Intelligence, especially as it applies to animals. There are some very clever animals out there, but 'normal' animals are limited to an Int of 1 or 2, which seems a bit unreasonable, especially for animals like dolphins or simians.
While I understand that Wisdom might take the place of Intelligence in such situations, it still seems odd overall.
Attributed directly linked to magic and not anything else might be nice. Faith for divine casters and Quintessence for arcane casters.
