Scorpion Whip

In the Ultimate Combat book the Scorpion Whip is listed as a light weapon without reach. Is that right, or an error?

In previous incarnations a scorpion whip functions as a whip, so whatever the description says I would assume it just alters the stats of a regular whip. But if Ultimate Combat lists it as a light weapon then perhaps it's been altered enough to be completely different from the standard whip. Until I have Ultimate Combat I'd just be guessing.

The normal whip should not have the reach property either, because it allows you to attack foes within 15 feet while a reach weapon allows you to attack foes within 10 feet but not within 5 feet.
