Sorry to sound like an idiot, but I see MAD mentioned in lots of mechanical discussions. I am not sure what the acronym means. Can anyone help with this?

Multiple Ability Dependent.

As in some classes can really focus on improving a single stat and generally dump the rest, while some classes use many ability stats.

Many thanks my friend!

Are Democrats spawn of Devil or servants of global Jewish conspiracy?

;-)

3 people marked this as a favorite.

MAD - Multiple Ability Dependency (when a character needs several ability scores)

compare to SAD - Single Ability Dependency (character needs only a single ability score, the rest is only of secondary importance)

CRAZY - Character Rationalisation And Zoning Yardage (A unit of measurement used when powergamers try to rationalise their twinked-out one trick ponies with "zones", i.e. character role types.)

INSANE - Insufficient Nomenclature Supporting A Negative Enterprise (a way of saying that some things are bad no matter how much you want to sugarcoat it)

And yes, of course I made the last two up.

Since I'm from Italy, I can just declare that I have far more disturbing political issues.

Isn't it generally more a matter of who?

Hmmm. maybe far more ENTERTAINING issues. Here you just get two sides trying to crahs the system so they can blame it on each other.

Where in Italy are you from? I studied art history in the University of Sienna.

And I always thought it's Multiple Attribute Disease.

I think I'll continue using that, sounds much more funny to me, instead of just being a sad state of things.

I'm from the central part. Perugia. But I am currently in Switzerland for job.

About the entertainment - I can assure you that is fare less entertaining from the inside. Most non-italians see mr B. as funny, but that is just his mask of sanity.

The country is quite screwed, and this could impact on the whole Europe. Is not entirely his fault - my country has in-built problems rooting in the post WWII period, and even older (the north south difference started soon after the unification, and most could be surprised by the fact that the south was richer then). Mafia and political patronage mainly.

But we are going off topic I guess :)
