Temple Swords

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Are temple swords from APG remotely based on anything that supposedly exist? Ot did the artist just go full out crazy when making the monk image for the CRB and then it was claimed "this is totaly an actual weapon!"

(But then, there's the starknife, which is even more insane.)

Does it matter? The base setting is a world called Golarian, not historical Earth. Last I checked, we don't have magic on Earth either.

It's a real weapon, although the examples I could find are slightly differently shaped.

Google is your friend. There are indeed blades called "Temple Swords" which are basically one-handed khopeshes.

This helps limiting down search results to what I'm looking for.

But almost all pages seem to claim that they were decorative object and not actual weapons.

Come on. It is rule of cool. An idealized version of a martial artist monk can use an idealized weapon.

Nothing wrong, or "unrealistic".
