A few questions and clarifications

I'm sort of new to the game, played a little 3.5 but not that much, and started GMing a game with a few friends, I just have a few questions that I can't find the answer to.
1. Can a Paladin take The spell Focus feat at 1st level?
2. Does Augment summon affect Eidolons?
3. Do Prestige classes cont towards the total level limit?
4. How the hell do Hit Die work? I've been assuming that th PC's total HD = there level, cause they roll one on level up, and that the enemies HD is the bit in the brackets next to there HP, i.e. "Hp 22 (2d12 + 5)" So the HD is 2?
5. How long is a full round?
6. The favored class options for hman sorceror says to add "one spell known" does that mean cast 1 more time per day from spells known or to add one spell to the list of known?

Sorry if some of these are answered elsewhere, I looked a bit and did have one of my questions answered, specifically that you can't cast a maximized Magic Missile at 3rd level even if you do have 18 charisma. But i didn't find the others. Thank you in advance.

(1) Yes, but he gains no benefit until he gains spellcasting

(2) No, augment summoning only affects creatures summed with a summon spell
(3) Yes
(4) You are right. That's how it works.
(5) 6 seconds
(6) He knows one more spell, but gains no additional castings per day. He just gains more options for what he can cast.

(5) In addition to Bascaria's answer, a full round begins at the start of a particular initiative count and ends just before that initiative count comes up again. For example, if a wizard who rolled 10 for initiative begins casting summon monster I, which has a casting time of 1 full round, he keeps casting all through his turn, through initiatives 9 to 0 and then from the highest initiative back to 11, and completes the spell just before the next initiative 10.
