I was wondering if anybody knows if the new PFS Organized Rules for Season 3 will be released a few days prior to GenCon, or at GenCon, this year?
I'd prefer that the rules be released at least a few days prior, as it will give all that are in attendance the opportunity to review the changes for Season 3 and start making new characters for the new factions introduced before arriving on site.
If Paizo waits to get the rules released until the first day as a PDF, I think you'll find it hard for players to get their hands on the new rules, as most will be away from their home and access to printers in order to bring the new rules to the site.

In 2009 the new Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play was released on August 1st (GenCon began on the 12th). In 2010 the new Guide was released on August 3rd (GenCon began on the 5th). So historically they have gotten it out at least a few days ahead of time. Everyone is anxious about GenCon, but the best thing we can do is be patient and let Mark & Hyrum focus on their work so they don't have to be here on the boards.

That doesn't bode well for me - I'm going to indy on july 29th, and won't have access to a printer beforehand.

I'm sure that you haven't alienated everyone who is coming to GenCon ;) Someone should be able to bring you a hardcopy.

Provided you're cheaper than FedEx/Kinkos and he doesn't figure out that hotels have business centers where guests can print stuff for free...

I hear that the Season 3 Org rules are in delay because Kyle somehow got himself on the review of the rules and he made some changes that is causing a delay in the completion of the Org rules.
- He added more freedom of use to Play, Play, Play! just to annoy me Head Explodes
- He added a 6th star category called The Grand Puba Game Master, which requires GMing 500 scenarios which Doug Miles has already passed by 2x that and is the only one to qualify and only one that will ever qualify.
- Added a rule that all Paladins must Atone after every scenario they play.
- Any rule that requires Gm Interpretation must be submitted on the PFS boards and must meet a minimum of 300 posts before it is resolved and then must be added to the Org rules. It is expected to add 300 pages to the Org rules.
- Paladins and Cavaliers can now only use Beer Barrels with wooden peg legs as mounts.
- Zero tolerance to GUI (GMing under influence of Alcohol)
- The new Standard for completion of scenarios must meet the average Time frame of Thea's Games.
There are a few others, but if I listed them all I would not get back to work!

The mod is just over twice as long as your average pee break...

There was an addendum added to this rule during review. Half the posts in the thread need to be by james maissen to qualify.

Haha, I'm staying with a friend, who will be in the process of moving into a new house while I'm there, and when I was there 2 years ago they were both college grad students and just printed everything out on campus, so not even sure if they have a printer.
