Council of Thieves

In the next month or so we will be starting the CoT AP!

No, I'm not the DM, but I figured I'd let you guys laugh at our group!

Human Ranger (Using the Switch Hitter build a la Treantmonk, taking the companion at 4th)
Magus (Don't know race yet)
Druid (Human or 1/2 Elf, taking a spell domain and not the companion)
Halfling Thief (nope not a rogue...a thief :-) )
Halfling Cleric (Cayden Cailean of course) Taking Alignment Channel to hurt lawful suckers, he read the hand out...:-) )

Think we'll live?

Just curious, does the player who created the druid know that it's a 95% urban (as in, you stay most of the time in a city) campaign?

He may not be. But I'm sure he read the Player's Guide to the AP, and it does not advise against it. :)

There is an urban druid archetype.

Have fun with the campaign!

Okay, I was just asking, that's all. As for me, I'm starting a CoT group, and I specifically advised against Druid, Ranger, Barbarian or mounted Cavalier characters, though I wouldn't forbid them. Hence my asking the question.

As for your original post, I think there's nothing to laugh at! IMHO a group can be very unoptimized (does that word even exist?) and still go through an AP without too much trouble. Of course, the group setup is unimportant for me as long as the GM is flexible to that setup, and as he knows his players. For instance, my CoT group is mostly made of new players, and I know that I won't play their opponents in a 100% optimized manner, since what's important for me is the players' fun. Adapting one's campaign is what makes is interesting, and playable.

As long as every player is having fun, that's great!

EDIT: And btw, a cleric of Cayden Cailean is always a great choice! My character in CotCT is one, and he's very enjoyable to play.

Update to Roster (and Starting on the 7th of Sept! Wohoo!)

Human Urban Ranger (Using the Switch Hitter build a la Treantmonk, taking the companion at 4th)
Elf Magus
Halfling Druid (taking a spell domain and not the companion)
Halfling Thief (nope not a rogue...a thief :-) )
Halfling Cleric (Cayden Cailean of course)
Gnome Illusionist

Thank gods the Magus is an Elf...I was so dreading being the first target in every combat!

I am SO psyched!

It's a city that worships Asmodeus and uses halflings as slave labor.

So, you've got three halflings, one of whom is a thief, and one of whom worships a chaotic god. And a gnome, who isn't going to be treated much better.

You might want someone with good social skills, or you could have trouble interacting with people who are already inclined not to like you.

Other than that, the party looks really good. Have someone learn haste, though. Moving at 20 isn't ideal.

Grand Lodge

I think you're going to have issues. It doesn't appear that anyone fills the "face" role in the party. As previously mentioned halflings and gmomes are not well liked. You also have four small characters, which means that one nasty grappling opponent could easily lead to a TPK. Not a spoiler because I don't recall such a fight, but I played less than half the AP.
