About a CR 25 encounter altogether. Probably a very close TPK if the group is only level 20. The Ravener itself is a sorcerer with energy drain, time stop, spell turning, greater dispel, maze and wish. The wizard uses scrying and probably spell immunities anti-undead spells like undeath to death and such. The two wizards can summon an army. The anti-paladin, the cleric and the two other half-casters don't make it any easier. I dunno. Seems rough, but I bet some level 20 PCs could pull it off. Level 20 is absolutely stupid.
Githyanki doesn't matter for the ghasts, though. Can't be a githyanki ghast. Ghoul supercedes githyanki. Ghouls are "CE Medium undead", not "CE Medium undead (human)" for instance. They keep nothing from their previous race at all. The lich, however, probably keeps most of what he knew, as the lich is "NE Medium undead (augmented humanoid)" in the bestiary.

Thank you, that seems about right.
I was unaware that ghouls lost their racials. There is no ghoul template, so that makes sense. I know of one (the gravetouched ghoul), though a wizard cannot create one, thus they would not be included in the encounter.
In case you were wondering, the Githyanki Lich is Vlaakith (just not the 3.5 version). The ghasts are her personal guards, githyanki which reached a high enough level that they become a threat to her rule. In line with Vlaakith's undeath, the dragon which accompanies her is a ravener.
I agree, it would be rough - but with some planning and the assistance of a githzerai sensei (16th-20th level monk), I think it could happen.
