In the playtest, the Eidolon could be summoned 1/day.
The APG removed that line from the Eidolon class feature description.
Does this now mean that a Summoner can summon/dismiss his Eidolon any number of times per day as long as the Eidolon is not killed? Or are they still limited to once per day?
The main reason for asking this is the feat: Summoner's Call. The feat grants the ability to summon the Eidolon 1 extra time per day, and grants bonuses to it for a short time when it arrives.

Summoner's CallWhenever you summon your eidolon, it is more powerful for a brief period of time.
Prerequisite: Eidolon class feature.
Benefit: Whenever you summon your eidolon, you may give it a +2 enhancement bonus to its Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution. This bonus lasts 10 minutes after the summoning ritual is complete.
it must have been changed.
An eidolon can be summoned 2 ways. 1 is through a minute long ritual and the other is through the summon eidolon spell. I do not know if your eidolon benefits from summoner's call or from augment summoning when you use the 1 minute long ritual. The ritual does not have a duration and you can do it as many times as you want in a day as long as your eidolon hasn't been killed.

Playtest material is just and only that, playtest material. Your only accurate source for what you can do with a summorner is the APG. Ignore the playtest material. Since the APG has no limitations on how often in a day you can summon your Eidolon, there is none.
If you search the board, the summoner's call feat has been noted as being misprinted. Ignore any reference in it to additional summonings per day.

Summoner's Call does not let you summon the eidolon once per day. In the flavor text it says that it does, but if you read the benefit of the feat it does nothing of the sort. They likely forgot to change the flavor text when they changed what the feat did.
Summoner’s Call
You have the power to call your eidolon one additional time per day.Prerequisite: Eidolon class feature.
Benefit: Whenever you summon your eidolon, it is more powerful for a brief period of time. You may give it a +2 enhancement bonus to its Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution. This bonus lasts 10 minutes after the summoning ritual is complete.
Upon further inspection, the flavor text was actually changed [in the second printing?] to match what the feat actually does.
Whenever you summon your eidolon, it is more powerful for a brief period of time.
Indeed, you are able to summon the eidolon as many times per day as you wish as long as it's not sent back to its plane due to damage:
If the eidolon is sent back to its home plane due to death, it cannot be summoned again until the following day.
No other restrictions are placed upon when you may summon the eidolon.

The Eidolon does not benefit from Augment Summoning, no matter how it's summoned. The feat ONLY buffs monsters brought forth from the Summon Monster spells and spell-like abilities.

Summon Eidolon is a summoning spell, and thus qualifies for Augment Summoning. The 1 minute ritual, on the other hand, is not and does not.

Augment Summoning on "summon Eidolon" is a DM call. I don't think we have official word on it yet.. and one can find LOTS of arguements in the forums for either way.

PS if you can find a definitive yes or no from a developer or in a FAQ PLEASE post link.
Oh, and please don't turn this one into one of those threads, just use necromancy on one of those others. :P

Technically, it works with any "Summon" spell: Summon Monster, Summon Nature's Ally, Summon Eidolon, even Summon Swarm. The only one I can think of that it doesn't work with is Summon Instrument :)

It could, if you could find a handheld instrument which counts as a creature...

Augment Summoning on "summon Eidolon" is a DM call.
Err, no it isn't. Not any more than anything else in the game is, anyway.
Augment Summoning applies to "Each creature you conjure with a summon spell". Eidolons are creatures, and summon eidolon is a summon spell. Ergo, Augment Summoning works on the summon eidolon spell.
