In another thread, there was a discussion about adventure "break points", points in the adventure where things could go off the written course of the adventure:
FallofCamelot wrote:Would it be helpful if these breakpoints were identified in a sidebar or note during the adventure and suggestions made as to what can be done? You can say "I'm not in charge of my destiny" about any AP. As a GM I always look for the "break points" in an AP, the points that if the players do or do not do something will break the campaign.
One of the break points for Serpent's Skull is "what happens if the players leave the castaways to it" another is "what if the players are the only ones who know about Saveth Yhi and don't mention it to anyone else."
The GM should have answers to this, I know I do.
This seemed to be a fairly popular idea: to include sidebars identifying the "break points" and suggestions for what can be done. I realize that a certain amount of this is already done, but it appears that a number of AP users feel it is information that should get slightly more attention.

I really feel like this is already covered in far more detail and better on the boards.
Yes but by then it is too late, it only happens when someone runs into it. For every dm that comes on the boards and asks about the situation, surely there are already many others who have run into it, including the dm that talks about it. If its there in the AP, the dm can be ready for it at the table.

It's a forced choice due to page count restrictions between warnings and better/more plot and characterization. I'll trust the hive mind of the internet + more paizo content over one editor's self critique + less content.
